Well…to be honest, we don’t know what you wrote in that letter of “apostasy.” You may have made statements that were extraordinarily hurtful. Given how you’re tossing the choir director’s actions into the thread as a justification for your own anger, I’m sort of siding with the priest.

Instead his tone was quite terse and sarcastic right from the get-go when I called him this morning. Not very Christ-like at all.

We’re to turn the other cheek, but that doesn’t mean we’re to let ourselves be verbal punching bags. What had you said to him in the past?

I don’t see where “wait two weeks to formally come back and make a profession of faith before reading again” translates to “you can’t confess for two weeks”. Are you sure you didn’t misunderstand him?

Please, try to be patient. Remember you are the one who publicly walked away. Convince him of your sincerity by speaking to him again in two weeks, calmly and respectfully.
