I am still waiting for your answer.

A…I’ve read many of your posts and will say I consider you to be an extremely intelligent person…FAR more intelligent than myself, in fact…though, that isn’t saying much!
As someone stated in a prior post…you have not been blessed with the ‘gift’ of faith…or, you have at one time, and you rejected it.
I am very fortunate that, though I am not as knowledgable as you, I have been given the gift of faith…more than once.
The point I’m trying to make, is that while I respect the fact you are ‘searching’, there will come a time where you may have to take a ‘leap’ towards faith…and that means accepting Truth without having the proof you so desire.
There is a LOT of evidence to God’s existence, however, you may call it ‘circumstantial’ or some other term. There have been times I’ve doubted…the stigmata of Padre Pio always puts my doubt to rest. Now, if I WANTED to, I could assume that he allowed someone to inflict those wounds on him, or that he had a deformity disease…psychology rules that out for me, not faith. He was far too ‘sane’ and moral of a man to be capable of pulling off such a fraud, imo.
Again, the chapter in the Big Book that I referred to in an earlier post also continues to strengthen my belief in God. I’m sorry that you found that chapter to be more about solving a drinking problem than a spiritual awakening…I would urge you to read it again, because the aspect of alcoholism has very little, to nothing, to do with the meaning of the chapter. I feel you may have read it half-heartedly, and totally missed the point.
Is it really conceivable that SO many billions of intelligent people throughout history have all subscribed to the ‘fairy tale’ of God’s existence? People much smarter and more successful than I have had much less difficulty accepting God’s existence than I have. It didn’t ‘make’ me believe, but it certainly made me question what qualifications I had to rule God’s existence out when I was agnostic.
I respect the intelligence and knowledge that you’ve displayed in this thread, and also the fact that you have obviously put much time and effort into your search.
I truly, truly hope you are blessed with faith, and I will pray that you are. I for one am very fortunate to be given the gift without putting in half the work you did. You’ve been a lesson to me in that respect…that I can not take my faith for granted, because I did not work nearly as hard as you to be granted it.
