Maine52;11663002:
If you wanted to marry a man who would share your Catholic faith, pray with you, discuss religion with you, etc., then you needed to consider that when you were dating him.
It’s not that I want him to be Catholic or do things the “Catholic” way. Its more about a prayer life together. He doesn’t understand the Rosary and things like that. I understand that and put myself in his shoes and don’t expect him to dive into Catholicism. I was mostly seeking advice on how to incorporate and encourage a prayer life together when we are of two different faiths. I love my husband very much. We are joined together by Christ through the sacrament of marriage and we both take that very seriously. I do not regret it at all and neither does he. I am not unhappy…Like I sad I was just seeking advice on how to incorporate a prayer life. We considered religion a lot while we were dating. We are growing and developing our routine and family dynamic so I was just seeking simple advice

.
You are not alone. My wife is an evangelical Christian.(her father a minister - THAT makes for some ‘fun’ dinners!) I am Catholic. Twenty years ago, most people would have counseled us to not get married. We have some similar issues to what you are experiencing, and I understand what you mean when you say you feel ‘alone’ in your faith. I will encourage you by reminding you over and over again that you are not alone. Christ is with you, He is in your marriage, and He is working in your husband - and He is working on you! One of the hardest lessons that I had to learn was that
Iwas not ever going to change my wife’s heart - only the Holy Spirit can do that. You can and should continue to live your faith - be a shining example for your spouse. And like others have said: don’t push to hard. Our Pope is a great example to follow: bring them in with love. And if that doesn’t work on the first 500 tries, love them some more! It IS possible. Stand firm. Don’t compromise. Don’t give up. Keep praying. Be thankful in each moment. I am praying with you and for you. Be confident that you and following the Lord’s will and remaining true to your faith. Continue to treat it like the blessing that you know it is to live life as a Catholic!
May He bless you and keep you all the days of your life!
