Dear fellow Christians of every ecclesial tradition, would you like please to write down why you are Christian ?

Notes:
  1. Statements of any size would go. Feel free to use links for the longest ones.
  2. Do not focus please on why you are Catholic or belonging to any other Christian option, but just on why you are Christian.
  3. It would also be interesting to know whether you had already conceived and shared this statement of yours or you have elaborated your response ad hoc, for the present thread.

If it weren’t for JESUS I would most likely be an atheist!

A God who cherishes human beings enough to become one; has power over death; and has arms to embrace us makes all the difference!!!

A transcendental “Great Spirit in the sky” may be more philosophically awesome, but who could resist the gentle strength and soft voice of our LORD?

I am a Christian because I believe that Jesus is the Messiah foretold in prophecy. I also believe in Him because He taught us to love each other which, for me, provides the only real meaning in life.
 
i am Christian because it actually make sence. funny i just got done talking about why the existence of God is logical. if you want ill post it on here but it is very long.
 
From another aging hippy…I responded to the Holy Spirit’s drawing.
 
God put a yearning in my heart, and in the hearts of each individual, so that all would come to know Him. God also sent His only son, Jesus Christ, to die on the cross for our salvation. How wonderful are we in God’s eyes that He sent His most precious son to stand in for us?

Once you come to believe that God exists, you have to know that He did not leave you entirely to your own resources. That is where Jesus Christ comes in. One of Jesus’ messages regarding the world we live in was, “If you were of the world, the world would love its own. Yet because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you.” (John 15:19)

God knew that, as lost sheep, we would be unable to survive in a world without Him, so He sent His son Jesus to show us the way back to the Father. Jesus repeatedly said, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." (John 14-6)

That is why I am a Christian, and why I believe and follow Jesus and NO ONE ELSE. Everything else is a lie, everything else is a manipulation of the truth but sadly, there are many who will fall into perdition because of it. God so loved the world that He sent His only son to die for our sins. You are the pearl of great price that Jesus spoke of in the gospels. You are worth more than you will ever know. When we leave this earth, our eyes will be opened to the truth and then we will see whether we have chosen correctly or not. I say, choose wisely. Choose Jesus.

God, in His incredible mercy, reconciled me to Himself through the sacrifice of His Son. It was entirely an act of His will in drawing me to Himself and planting faith in my heart to believe. Had He not done so, I would doing my own thing. :curtsey:
 
Because my deepest yearnings were satisfied in the simple message and love of God in Christ Jesus…the Love of God entered our humanity to seek and to save that which was lost…God came looking for me…astounding concept.
 
I am a Christian because it makes sense. This belief system speaks to every deep human need: to be loved, to be forgiven, to know a Hero, to have significance. God is the best explanation for the existence of the universe, the world and humanity. The resurrection of Christ has never been proved false - and never will be. The witness of the earliest believers. The consistency of Scripture.

I could go on and on…
 
  1. I like the TRUTH.
  2. The New Age “religion” I subscribed to before my conversion was just too subjective and anti-intellectual for me to ultimately stay with it.
  3. There is actual proof (to me) of its authenticity.
  4. Since there is actual proof (for me) of its authenticity, I have no choice but to follow that truth.
  5. Without actual truth, my life would of course be false.
 
okay, my short answer to such a complex question has been bothering me, so ill restate my comments in more words:

I am a Christian because i believe that God, the Almighty Being, the Creator, sent down His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, to spread the message of truth and Love, and make known God to the world, that God is love, God is not a mad god looking for His vengance and waiting for you to sin so He can snap, I’v got to say thats a pretty imperfect way to act for a Perfect Absolutely Neccisary being. Jesus Christ has revealed that God is a Merciful, Loving, Caring god, through the Resurrection He has also shown that He is the God of Life, and that through Jesus Christ God has conquered over the world, over sin, and finally, over death.

👍 Ditto, give me a God who roles up His sleeves and comes down here to demonstrate love on an unimaginably grand scale-in the face of hatred and rejection-now that’s what the world needs!

The Holy Spirit used a peculiar set of circumstances to reveal the reality of Christ to me.

I have shared my testimony on numerous occasions. You have been given the most simplistic recounting of it, that I have ever expressed.

I was born into it. I studied and participated in many other religions for the experience. I was engaged by Protestants and found that process lacking and not true. It was hard to deny the truth.🙂
