I am leaving CAF

I just wanted to let everyone know that I am leaving CAF. I came here to try to learn more about my faith but it seems like most of the time its people arguing there opinions. I think I will be better off just finding a spiritual director then using this forum. Goodbye and God Bless.
 
I have noticed sometimes there are sparks flying in some of the Forums. GoD bless you in your search.

I ask God to lead you to the best spiritual director or confessor for you. I just thought I’d include and say a couple of my prayers, on your behalf. See you in heaven some day, Trishie!

One life to give
Dear God, there are many beautiful, generous, wise and productive people in this world and throughout time. These ‘fully human, fully alive’ individuals are floodgates of abundant blessing to others and of great joy and glory to You.

I have many flaws and often make mistakes. I am inconsistent in charity, faith, wisdom and commitment. Forgive me, God. Yet even if I am less wise and less good than many others are, I have merely this consciousness, this body, this life that I can give You. There is no other self over whom I have right of decision and offering. Only by Your miracles of grace can I give this ‘me’ totally, and in the way that You wish for Your delight and for others’ benefit. Please make it so, according to Your hope.

I consecrate my entire life to You. I cannot change others’ paths, but with Your Spirit, I can love You with all my heart, soul, mind and strength.

I have only myself to give. Please take all. Never let me go. Make me increasingly Your own. Let me live and accomplish, all that You dreamed of me from loving eternity

Dear God, I choose to love You truly and to allow You to love and serve others through me. I want to live Your dream of me fully, but I may misinterpret Your will and inspiration as it refracts through my emotions and mental processes. Please nevertheless fulfil all that You desire through my life and prayer.

Flood Your love to others though all my efforts and errors. Grant me faith, fidelity, wisdom and prayer. Recreate me in the fullness of Your will and fill me with Your love, for sake of Your honour and delight, and for salvation of souls.

Let me be the person who You dream me to be, so that Your desire for Yourself and for each soul You place in my care or influence is generously fulfilled.

Translate me into Your own terms as I come contritely and gropingly before You in humble trust, with my imperfect efforts. I know that You have mercy on good intentions even if these are misguided. As a relative newcomer to the boards, I tend to agree with you. The forums seem full of people who are realyl here just to spark debate, but I do find the Family Life forums helpful for most things. It gets really bad when you venture over to the Apologetics or Moral Theology lol

Well, I have to say in CAF that when people ask for assistance with their problems, and opinion, they are going to get it. I’ve been here a very long time (almost 4 years) and I have to say it’s always been that way. But as far as a loving group ready to go the extra step for people- There are NONE better.

People will always have opinions. The anonnymity of a user name allows them to express it a litlte more forcefully than they might if they were face-to-face iwth real people.

The way I am here is pretty much the way I would be face to face. I say what I feel and mean what I say. My father taught me that.

I’ve been on this forum for a while now.

And, while it’s always somewhat been the way you describe, I think it’s much worse now. Some of the things that I’ve read, I’m surprised mods haven’t jumped on them. I’ve received a warning before, when talking about the ECUSA and now, I see some things said about the ECUSA and the Anglician church that I can’t believe are allowed to be said. (although I agree with a lot of it)…however…

maybe the atmosphere has changed… I am right behind ya, super sport 👍 Goodbye as well!

My only question is how do you know the person(s) who have said the same things you did re: the ECUSA haven’t gotten the same warnings you did? Was your post pulled and theirs not? Remember warnings are not public, (note I have never gotten a warning)

For the OP, seeking spiritual direction form a forum is not proper. Seeking advise and opinions on the other hand is. Please consider leaving the CAF but continuing your education via Catholic.com, NewAdvent.com, EWTN.com and other good Catholic web-sites as well as a real life spiritual director.

The purpose of this forum is not spiritual direction. So, if you are in need of spiritual direction you are wise to seek someone in your diocese for regular meeting.

However, the Forums can certainly serve their purpose which is to evangelize and promote discussion about the faith. Yes, you will encounter opposing opinions and various level of charity. You will find the same in real life, too.

👍 And people who ask for the opinions of others by posting questions should expect to get answers, some of which they might not want to hear- just as they would face-to-face.
