I have to agree with the OP, Im scared thinking of the future, not so much in what happens, but what that which we dont know what to expect, that has always scared me about death, Ive lied awake at night for hours worrying about this many times, I keep wondering if its a HUGE thing, like suddenly waking up in either a good place or waking up in a not so good place, is there any pain involved in this transition? Will we drift off, like we are going to sleep and then we are abruptly ‘awoken’ in our new eternity,or is it more of a gentle thing? this is scary to think about, more of a fear of the unknown actually.

When I was a teenager way way back in the 1960’s , there was much talk about the end days , even my Parents were worried that it would be any day , television presenters made Documentaries as to how an when , even drew up large Maps as to how the Holy land would be invaded by the Russian Hordes , rivers of Blood , etc etc , was such an acopolictic scene , Horror movies are made of this stuff,
Well here we are 2015 , there are still Wars , still have mad people trying to frighten us ,
Reading the newspapers gives you a good reason not to get from under the bed,
The Sun still rises & Still sets , we still have things to worry about without thinking about the End Times, go out and Enjoy the things we have, pray, live , and love ,
The World is a beautiful place,

FWIW, I do believe the end times are beginning. But, this doesn’t really upset me. I pray frequently for Jesus to return. He knows my heart, & I’m confident I’ll be with Him eventually. That’s all that matters to me. 🙂
The “last days” and “end times” do not mean the Second Coming of Christ is near. It could be thousands of years away, maybe millions. But we are living in the “last days.”

*Are we, as many Christians believe, living in the last days? In fact, the “last days” refers not only to the “end of time,” but to the last two thousand years. Scripture teaches that the Incarnation ushered in “the last days.” According to Hebrews 1:1-2, “God, after He spoke long ago to the fathers in the prophets in many portions and in many ways, in these last days has spoken to us in His Son, whom He appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the world.” *

Frankly, I wish the end of history would occur soon, however, if you mean you don’t believe it will end soon, I’m in agreement. (Sorry for the run-on sentence.)

**Hi ellam25,

It looks to me like you have gotten some very good advice, but wanted to say a couple of things.**

First of all, we are NOT leading up to the Second Coming like all the Protestant posters on Youtube would have us believe, What we ARE heading into is a time of great chastisement that will culminate in the “Triumph of the Immaculate Heart.” God is allowing all of this to happen to shake peoples lives up in such a way that they won’t be able to ignore Him any longer. All of the electronic marvels that our generation has used to distance themselves from the more important life issues will not be there any longer to use and fast food will be a thing of the past. In fact, food may be a thing of the past, however, the Lord is allowing this so that He can draw His children closer to HIm.

The bad things about this is that it will be a time of great danger that will not only be happening to us but to all the nations in the world, at the same time. We must keep in mind, though, that the Lord is doing this to get our attention so we don’t die in our sins. Keeping all of this in mind, going to confession regulary and making things right with God as soon as possible is probably the best thing for all of us to do.

As to being “prepared,”.No One Is Going To Be Able to Prepare.for what is ahead. It will be a day to day walk that keeps us in constant communication with God and asking what we need to do next. THEN, we do the next right thing that comes to us and THEN we encourage those around us, because people are going to be losing it! If we concentrate on helping others, it will help us to deal with the fear that all of us will be experiencing…

We will all begin this time on a level playing field, no one will be PREPARED. God wants us to come to Him constantly and if we do that, we have a good chance of making it. If we don’t do it,…well, we will pay a price, in fact for some it may be lethal… It will be up to us and our personal walk with God every single day until Our Lady of the Immaculate Heart brings Victory at the last moment.

I know it sounds scary and I guess it is, but as you pointed out the world has gotten to be pretty bad. The Lord is giving this time to us as a means by which we can turn to Him and be welcomed into His presence. whether we stay here or go on to be with Him, it will be the same thing.

***So ellam25, just try to be the best Catholic that you can be and you will be fine! Remember that its your life that your husband will look at! Teach him by example–yours! ***

Excellent advice! OP and to anyone else who fears, draw close to the sacraments! You will lack nothing if you do so! Also, if you haven’t already consecrated yourself to Our Lady’s Immaculate Heart you should do so. There’s no safer place to be.🙂

Look at it like this: If your house is extremely unsanitary with disease and filth, you would need to clear everything out, and clean vigorously and thoroughly. Only after you cleansed everything would you put everything back in order. In a way, that is what has to happen here. Remember the words of Our Lady of Fatima (approved by the Church): " In the end, my Immaculate Heart will triumph."

Thank you everyone for your kind words. As some of you said, I do believe it is some of my hormones being a little out of whack. However, the end has always been on my mind, just more lately. Thank you all and God bless. Ella

I dont think hormones are to blame, if you look around online, there are MANY people right now that are having that same feeling…feeling like ‘something’ is about to happen, many people are also experiencing visions, IDK if it means anything or not, but I would imagine it does mean something if soooo many people are feeling the same thing at one time.

while it is true there were many time in history when the ‘end times are nigh’’ crowd seemed so right (kinda like they do right now), but eventually, at some point, they WILL be right.

If you’re afraid of Christ’s Second Coming and the final days of human history, you probably really should talk to a priest. I greatly look forward to the end of time, Christ’s Second Coming, and the resurrection of the dead. We profess that at each Holy Mass.
