I am fed up with this kind of stuff as well. Not only is it in Hollywood it is in other places too. I am a member of another Christian forum website. They have been extremely anti-Catholic. When I posted that I was joining the Catholic Church a lot of them were on me like white on rice. I think Hollywood has much to do with this as well. When I posted a forum on Catholicism with the purpose of helping others to understand Catholicism these anti-Catholics turned it into a war. So far me and a few other Catholics have been doing well on this. Not only Hollywood has a big part to do with this, it also has a lot to do with how a person was raised in a household. God speed.

There’s just too much damn hypocrisy in Hollywood.

I’m not in any way condoning what Mel Gibson said or did (his little rant about the Jews), but give me a break…

Roman Polanski rapes a 13-year old girl and fless the country and then gets a LifeTime Achievement Award, and a standing ovation at one of the Oscar ceremonies.

Ian MacKellan and Denis Leary bash Christinas every chance they get (not in their “acts”, but in their everyday speech) but God frobid they get “blackballed”, as everyone is now screaming to happen to Mel.

Rob Schnieder takes out a full-page ad in Variety saying he’ll never work with Mel (can’t help but laugh at that one…cuz God knows Mel is just dying to work with the star of “The Hot Chick”, “Duece Bigalow” and “Demolition Man” 🙂 )

Bottom line = bashing Catholics and Christians is all good; but don’t open your mouth about the Jews.

(Oh, and everyone seems to forget that Mel apologized for what happened. I guess forgiveness is out of the question, huh, guys?)

One last thing: All these guys screaming for Mel’s head…they’re all “practicing” Jews, right? I mean, they go to Temple every day and totally practice their faith, right? They fully understand how to treat people who say nasty things about you, right? Surely the Jewsi hreligion teaches about forgiveness and compassion and not judging…which all these people would know, since they are fully, practicing Jews, yes?

Just asking.

(I apologize for my heavy dose of sarcasm, but I can’t stomach all the hypocrisy.)
You know of course that if Mel had been your normal Hollywood badboy all would’ve been forgiven. But it really irked Hollywood and those who think that only they are the shapers of culture when he made that very successful Christian movie without their blessing. And the fact that it made so much movie and was so popular even without their approval was very embarrassing to them. This was their way of getting back.

Yes, Mel did wrong and as a celebrity it was newsworthy. But it was disgusting how much flack it raised (and for several days) when someone who was drunk said anti-Semetic remarks which he didn’t even remember but later apologized for anyway. Hollywood does a lot worse than that when they’re sober.

Hollywood is run by atheist perverts. A lot of them have Jewish backgrounds. They will harass the Catholic faith at every opportunity yet they will never show either atheism or Judaism in a bad light. Its pathetic.

I totally agree and sometimes it’s hard to control my rage.

I cancelled my newspaper because I was so sick of all the anti catholic articles that were exagerated or in complete error. I refuse to allow my money to support such obvious bias.

For years I’ve hated going to the movies due to the language, blasphemous against God - you know g__ D___. I practically jump out of my seat. Oh, if these actors and directors and producers knew how offensive it is to Our Lord.

Every episode on tv now has an episode of a killer priest and it’s accepted! No other religion would be subjected to what the Catholic Church has.

I don’t watch any of them. Refuse to. Now, on the bright side, I did catch a Lifetime channel movie about a paralyzed man in a coma who was healing people. An angry reporter who didn’t believe was focused on trying to prove it was all a lie for money. I kept waiting with a pit in my stomach for the movie to turn into anti catholic ending but it ending with the reporter believing because she witnessed a relative being healed. I was overjoyed and couldn’t believe how well it was done. The young priest was so good, patient and loving. The actress was Samantha Mathis but I can’t remember the name of the movie but It made me feel good.👍

I don’t see how you can be Jewish and anti-catholic, it just doesn’t mix. Part of it, I think is our western society’s failure to absorb the Jews is one of the many things that has led to the radical secularist movement.

I generally cringe when I see a Priest on TV. Today it was CSI, normally my favorite show, of course today focused on the Priest having an affair with a murder victim.

And as for the Catholic / Jewish thing, the classic Jewish stereotypes are all over the place. Blaming someone’s Jewish background is showing a different prejudice.

I saw this episode today as well. It was offensive in a way because it is typical of Hollywood to show that a priest broke his vows. However, other than that I say the other characters treated the priest well, but they really could have done without the priest having an affair part. God speed.

I was waiting to see if they were going to let the priest be innocent in the end, but of course, they had to have him to be a priest who just couldn’t keep his vows. This is the third episode of CSI Las Vegas that has done similar anti-Catholic episodes. I think it’s obvious that the producer is an ex-Catholic who is working out his demons through this show. He even has Grissom, the lead investigator, as an ex-Catholic who still struggles with his faith.

Anyway, I have noticed that not a week goes by without seeing the Church or clergy portrayed as corrupt or untrustworthy on one show or another. It is painful and completely out of proportion with the way all other religions and Christian denominations are portrayed. 😦

It is not a Catholic movie, but I believe it was a great christian movie that hollywood tried hard not to publicize. The movie is entitled “to end all wars” and is an amazing movie featuring very good actors, and with a wonderful message. It is also based on a true story.

A lone Raven

p.s.- not that most of hollywood is like this, but it is a glimmer of hope

Can’t go to the movies anymore because it’s all garbage and they expect you to pay 12 dollars for it. Can’t rent DVD’s because it’s just the recycled garbage from the theatres. Can’t watch TV because it’s worse than the theatres. Even channels I used to think were inoffensive (History Channel, HGTV, CNN) now make me sick. So now I am left with the Food Network and occasionally FOX. So I spend my time here, with EWTN on the radio in the background.

I went with the g/f to watch The Departed last weekend because I like Scorsese films. Well, it was pretty good for the most part, but in the movie, Jack Nicholson has a hatred for Catholics. He calls them, priests, and nuns everything in the book. Consider this when heading to the multiplex this weekend.

Let me summarize blessedtoo…

Movies = expensive garbage. DVD = recycled garbage.
TV = worse garbage. Cable = recycled worse garbage.
History Channel = make me sick.
Food Network = garbage with a cherry on top.
FOX = garbage with a football helmut on top.
CNN = garbage with a news report on top.
EWTN = garbage with a Bible and Catechism on top.

You need more cans, garbage pick up only one day a week.

Movies = great fun, like anything in life you have to search for it
Dvds = Awesome home entertainment
Food Network = Paula Dean and Gianna!
History Channel = Educational but still up to you to further investigate

Fox = Yes, I agree. always
CNN = Mostly yes, but Anderson Cooper 360 is pretty good
EWTN = No longer watch, due to staleness and lack of creativity. Raymond Arroyo and World Over is too enamored with the GOP, in their world only abortion and gay marriage are serious issues.

You say EWTN is garbage? I love that channel, it’s guided by the Holy Spirit.

Yeah, I saw on CSI and I couldn’t watch it any longer. How typical! I think it would be great if Grissom returned to Catholicism, but judging by his past comments I doubt that’s going to happen.

I am so tired of the Media and Hollywood’s anti-Catholicism. It is impossible to go a full week without hearing a soundbyte here and there on film, news, and television, on the “infamous evil empire”.

I was watching Million Dollar Baby this weekend with a family friend who attends Churches of Christ, and in one of the scenes one character got scoffed with profanity by a Priest. The family friend was repulsed by a cursing Priest. Obviously the friend reacted just the way Hollywood wanted him too!

Several winters ago there was a movie called 40 days and 40 nights. I did not watch the film but the plot was simple. A guy sho supposed to be Catholic stops fornicating for 40 days and forty nights. Not coincidently, Hollywood released this film during Lent season, go Figure!

In 03, a Priest in my local area was charged with raping a 16 year old girl, which later turned out to be a false charge and he was aquitted. At the same time a Pentacostal Minister was charged with molesting two of his own daughters. He was found guilty. However the local newspaper did a good job of covering the front page every other day with only the Priest case while the Pentacostal Minster got no more that 100 words in the back of the paper!

My anger for antiCatholicism has gotten to the point were I am afraid of going to the movies with non-catholic Christians for fear of seeing this garbage! Am I the only one that feels this way!!! How do you guys deal with it. Advice??

God bless
I’m sure that Bill Donahue, the president of the Catholic League wholeheartedly agrees with everything you said. Keep praying for that the culture will turn away from evil.

The Church represents everything a society which celebrates sexual deviance as “family value” hates. Priests who where their collar are easy to identify. Since , unlike Moslems, Christians don’t kill those who insult them, Hollywood gets away with their fun.

“It is just art.” they claim. They deny they influence anyone. That is a ***lie ***and they know it is a lie. News media lets them get away with it because they agree with them.

Art has always been one of the most powerful influences on society. That is why the Church sponsored so much art for so long. That is why we have statues, paintings and icons.

The greedy atheistic hedonists in the media probably don’t know it, but Satan is their master.
