God works with me and allows me to have things in my life that makes me extremely happy, but then I let people in my life that destroy everything that I worked so hard to accomplish. which ultimately makes me lose the path I was on. I have always had problems with relationship, friends, family, boyfriends, they never seem to work out, now today my boyfriend broke up with me because he thought we were moving fast, even though I did everything right, I wasn’t even looking when I met this guy but somehow I always encounter people who do not benefit my life and I’m starting to feel like a bird trapped in a cage, not being able to spread their wings and be themselves. It’s getting to the point where I just feel lonely, I’m giving myself one more semester to get out of this rut, I’ve been battle for my whole life, even though I am 22, I’m just done the fighting and want to move one but as soon as I do I allow someone in and then they just hurt me all over again. moreover, I just don’t know why people always abandon or treat me shitty, I’m just not strong enough anymore to handle these feelings I am tired of feeling depressed and left out of finding love and being truly happy with companionship.

Do not seek to solve a temporary problem with a permanent solution.

1-800-273-8255

Call that number, it’s the suicide prevention hotline. Someone can talk to you.

You know what? You’re reaching out for help! That’s a plus! Think about that—you’re not giving up! Please please please find real life help!

You’re young, we all have gone through depression and rejection and you name it and it seems like the end of the world when you are young, but it passes like everything else. Have you ever had the flu or a bad cold, you thought it would last forever right? Same thing with these life situations. Having a boyfriend (for me girlfriend) is not a priority when you are young, especially if you are in school. I wish someone would have told me that when I was younger, it would have saved a lot of heartbreak.

Life is worth living, focus on what you do well, what you like and don’t get caught up with passing things.

I come here to seek advice from other Christians, in hopes to find some sort of meaning

Look, I’ve been there. I have the physical and mental cuts to prove it. We’re legitimately trying to help you right now. I’m not a therapist, I can’t help you with everything, but I can do exactly what I said I was doing, and you were already given a phone number to call people that could help, please call them.

Things will get better. I had a very bad day at age 24. It was Friday the 13th of July, 2001. I lost 2 girls and my job on the same day.

I had just begun dating someone (even though she just saw me as a friend) and met another girl at work. At work, I was talking on messenger to my brother who was about 13 and home alone. I couldn’t handle 2 girls so I picked one (the one who didn’t really feel that way about me.) And I lost my job for excessive internet use. And I hurt the other girl who did like me since I didn’t choose her.

I thought I’d ruined my career and would never find love again. It took time, but I’m happily married with 2 wonderful kids and just got a promotion at work. Hang in there, we’re always here to help and pray that you’ll find your happy ending as well! Get closer to God in this time of loneliness, He will show you the way.

I lost 2 girls and my job on the same day.
Whew. When I read “lost 2 girls” I thought you meant you had two daughters who died. 😅

i guess that’s a difference in ages between us, eh?

Take Hope in the Love of God, it is often when our lives are shattered and our hearts are broken that we get the closest to Christ. We see how much, how deeply we need Him. Perhaps this suffering is a means to draw you closer to Christ? What hope is there apart from God? There is none. And there need not be another. He satisfies our deepest longings for Love, no love on Earth can compare.

Oops, sorry to scare you there. I couldn’t really say 2 girlfriends since neither of them qualified and I had no clue what I was doing in regards to dating. I got a monthly “date” with the one I liked, I guess that’s why I was open to getting to know the other.

One thing I’m slow, gradually, ever-so-slightly learning is that every painful disappointment in life (whether it’s failed expectations, things not progressing at work, or people who hurt you) makes you turn towards God. Maybe not immediately, maybe not completely.

People and situations will always disappoint us in some form or another. We place expectations on them and they don’t exactly turn out the way we thought they would.

We will be forced to trust God alone – in sadness, grief, anger, sorrow, helplessness, confusion as to why things happen.

That you are seeking help on a Christian site means you DO want to find God.

He is probably closer than we can perceive or imagine…somewhere within us.

“We are not the sum of our weaknesses and failures, we are the sum of the Father’s love for us and our real capacity to become the image of His Son Jesus.” – St. John Paul the Great

I will pray for you indielove. Please remember your true, priceless value and identity as a child of God. Call the number posted above and let them help, and try talking to a priest.

Dear Indie love,
Sigh! I know how you feel. Society has changed so much. I’d say why I feel so but don’t want to start a thread on the Why. Here’s one proof. Young women who attract questionable men phenomena. In the older days, the men would be drunks, smoke cigarettes, and cheat…
Now, some sad women start w a guy and let him babysit their toddlers and they rape the child to death. Frequency of occurring is 3 reports in 1 yr.
Surely, a loving mother would consider those thoughts before you bring him home…
You have to be happy w your relationship w Jesus.
Live your programmed life: church, family, school job.
As you said, you were going along and some guy stopped you and broke your heart.
So, this is not 100% true, BUT: 1. Are you Christian??Pick your same denomination. Avoid differences! 2. You can fall in love w man w a secure job, instead of a fly by night bar tender. (or a guy that will kill children). So, when you are looking for a mate, find out his job ASAP.
If he goes to church and dresses nicely, you could still have a serial killer. The BTK KILLER was a deacon in a Lutheran Church. Population has increased.Poverty has increased. It’s harder now.
3. No smoking, no alcohol or social only. Good job.
Don’t socialize in bars. No tattoos or piercings.
Have than been married before?? Why divorced? Realize 2 stories here. Children? How are they behaving. What is his family like?
Now, there is a kid that will be good from a bad family or bad from a bad family. There are rebellious Pastors kid, who can be rotten?? That is just not right!!
Make sure you are active in life,in places where kind men are. Volunteer w Salvation Army? Volunteer w a hospitals nursery to feed babies.
I pray that helps. Stay pure. If you lapsed in life, you can pray and start being virtuous w a spiritual virginity. You are a treasure. You should be treated as a princess. Don’t be a sex toy for raging hormones.
Prayer: the Prayer Of Jabez. Jeremiah 29/11. Matthew 11:… Come unto me, all you who labor…

Lord, heal Indielove’s heart and spirit. Let her feel joy in her heart about being a Kings kid. A fine shining piece of gold. Give her a spirit of discernment. Let her feel Your GO or STOP! Each day, is a joy w You, Lord. Fill her up w Your love. Ephesians 5(?) Put on your armor of God—-

Hi indie,
Make a list of traits you want husband to be.
Don’t forget anything. One person did this and left out cheating? How could you forget that. He ended up being a cheater. No porn of drug addictions…
Love in Christ

Who is the Patron Saint of finding a good spouse?

My dear sister is wondering.
[/quote]

St. Katherine of Alexandria (Feast Nov. 25) (especially for women seeking husbands)

St. Joseph (Feast March 19)

St. Raphael (Angel who led Tobit to his wife)

St. Theres of Lisieux (whose spouse was Christ, but is a great help to those seeking earthly counterparts).

Don’t you even think about it!!! You’ll tear up the people who love you worse than anything imaginable. I lost my 22 year-old son to suicide in 2016. He had had three forms of insomnia, and five concussions that we know of.

Get help now! Go for a walk and clear your head. Click on this: http://savior.org/ and talk to the Lord. Find a St. Benedict medal. You’re being spiritually assaulted (more than likely).

But please – get away from any and all thoughts of harming yourself. You were put on this Earth to do a job that only you can do. God has a plan for you. Stop treating the Divine Lover like this!

Blessings,

indielove,

It’s all your fault if you haven’t tried to remedy this matter with ice cream and a good comedy. When I say ice cream, I mean A JUG of ice cream. My dear, if I wasn’t so old, I would move you in and talk sense into you. We are both in the “betrayed” category and frankly, the same happened to Jesus, that silver Judas and Delilah got wasn’t worth it and God was kind of saying, “when your down like this, those fools are going down in history as jackazzes not as some amazing arrest.” Come on now, the bibles telling you it’s ok to have some fools around that don’t appreciate your good heart. I got your back and don’t be wild on that ending life before it starts stuff. They have an 800 number for people hurt over some social gang bangers… don’t let it get to you. People live in cars and are so accustomed to soup kitchens they can’t find a school lifestyle. God positioned you to “kill it” in this world, your just fine! It’s “Spill some emotions time” and I already know God wants a piece of this mess, pray it up and keep coming back.

Hey. Take a deep breath, take a look in a mirror and then read this:

The whole point of your 20s is to find your place in the world. Everyone else your age is doing the same thing. You’ve spent almost all of your life in a cocoon and now you’ve emerged a butterfly. But you still don’t know how to fly. This is the time. The experiences you’ve had will set you up for life. They might hurt now but trust me you will look back on them and think ‘jeez, why did I make such a song and dance about that?’

Being in your 20s is the time to experiment with life. It’s the only time you’ll be able to get out and try different things on your own. Don’t focus on settling down just yet. If the right guy comes along, great. In the meantime enjoy meeting lots of different people in lots of different places and learn as much as you can from them, especially the guys. Work out what makes them tick. Work out how you can make them tick. One day you and they as a generation will be running the country. The more you get to understand your peers the more you will be able to influence them. Think of your 20s as ‘the university of life’. You don’t go to university to find a boyfriend. You go to learn. Use your 20s to learn as much about life as you can. Remember, everyone else your age is doing the same thing. They are flitting from flower to flower taking what they can and moving on. You need to join them. This is your Spring. Mating doesn’t happen until later on.

Go flit. Go fly, my sweet butterfly. And make sure you show off your gorgeous wings.

This poster has hit the nail on the head,
disasterous situs are GOD’s way of
REMINDING us who’s in charge or
should be, if you have a healthy resp-
ect or fear of God, then you will under-
stand the “whys” of life and find life
health and happiness and as C.S. Lewis
says: “Surprised by Joy!”.
