I feel selfish for asking for prayer in a world full of sufferng, but I am indeed feeling my own suffering in my current situation. Three months ago I lost my job after 26 years with a company I was totally committed to – I was making a substantial salary and an officer of the company. I have chosen to accept that God somehow works in mysterious ways - and that my future will be bright and bountiful. I have gone back to school at the age of 52 - -and am working on my masters degree. I feel as though I have found my next calling in life – and I am filled with joy on that front. Sadly, my marriage is struggling – I have been married for 30 years, to a good man. I have been the breadwinner in my family for so long. I have taken care (in a physical sense) of my husband’s parents and then my mother – all of whom were diagnosed with terminal illnesses and then passed away. I finally feel free of the death and loss I have experienced for so long – and now I feel joy in my future. Sadly, my husband of 30 years, seems to lack interest or compassion in my future. After all these years, I am unsure he cares about me as a person. He remains angry about my mother’s illness and the impact it had on our family. I am on this threshold of starting anew – and he seems locked in the past and negative. My heart and soul is stricken by his lack of support and I don’t know what do to. I feel lost and unsure of where to go. Please pray for us --that my marriage can survive this latest challenge and that I can find the right path ahead of me.
