It seems like my whole life has been one failure after another… whether it be a job, or even being a catholic. I have been unemployed since Dec 09 and have not found suitable employment. I dont know what I am good at anyway…

I don’t feel like God loves me anymore, and that my prayers are usless as I am not a saint. I cant go to communion because my first wife left me 26 years ago and I remarried 3 years ago. The priest told me that he cant give me abslolution because I am married.

I know about annulment, but I cant do paperwork very well and many of the principal witnesses are either dead or cant be located. Sometimes it just seems like God does not want me to be happy.

if it wasnt for my wife, I would end it… I do need prayers, as I do believe in their power even if it seems that mine fall on deaf ears…

I’m so sorry you are struggling Aquinas 😦

what about attempting to get an annulment anyways? just in case… you never know!! 🙂 maybe you can get someone to help you with it? (like your priest?)

Please don’t doubt that God loves you!! You don’t have to be a saint for HIm to love you and hear your prayers… there’s an infinite abyss that separates us from God, but it is bridged by His mercy. No matter what we do, we won’t ever be able to reach God, even if we’re like the Saints. It’s through His mercy that He reaches down to us. And His mercy is for everyone… just look at the Cross, and how God was willing to suffer and die for you like that. Would He leave you now? Would He stop loving you after dying for you? Think about this carefully. God bless

I pray for you in your time of difficulty… I pray that God’s love and His mercy be apparent to you…that His Holy Spirit will fill you with expectant joy…that you will come to a deep experience of His love for you even in the midst of your difficulty.

I thank God for the gift of your life. I pray that His peace will fill you and that He wil continue to lead you.
Amen

God Bless you always,
marialucia

Dear Aquinas - I am so very sorry for your pain. And you are most certainly in my prayers -

May you feel the unquantifiable love that God has for you in this moment, in your imperfection, in your pain. May you know God’s love despite your feeling of being unheard. May you, through the love of your wife, recognize the value you bring to this world today, here and now.

Many saints felt this desolation - you are not alone.
Many saints felt this distance - you are not alone.

God loves you. You may not feel it, yet he does. You are his most precious child. Every hair on your head, every cell in your body, every breath you take is because God loves you. May you feel the embrace of His love and His mercy now, today and always.

I think the other advice on looking into an annulment is a good idea.

My friend’s father was in the same situation. He was married when he was only 20. His wife left him after only a year or two. He remarried civilly years later and had a family. He never sought an annulment (for the same reasons - principles long gone) - he went to daily mass and made a spiritual communion, he prayed for so many people every day that his prayer book was stuffed with notes being held in with a rubber band - He was kind, generous, loving, father and grandfather, I do not for one moment doubt that upon his death that he was welcomed into the embrace of our Lord. But when you can - when you have the ability - just look into it - it may yet be possible - if not - continue to do your best…

Just don’t doubt God’s mercy.

Be the person you know God is calling you to be. Be a loving husband. Continue to reach across the abyss - God is already at your side.

You are in my prayers my friend.
Easter Blessings to you and yours. Give your wife our thanks for being the reason that today you press on - such a gift can only be from God.

I pray to our Lord Jesus that he will give you great healing and blessing. I would also recommend that you purchase a book called the Rosary of Liberation, this book contains inspiring stories of Lord healing and pouring His blessings on ordinary people who find themesleves in dire situataions. The most imporatent thing is that you need to have faith and hope in the Lord. He is the one person who would never leave you and who you can depend on. I ask the Blessed Virgin Mary to pray for you and that She will continue to point you to the Way of Her Son.

Dear Mother, obtain for Aquinas62 the way to find joy in the midst of suffering. Draw him and all souls toward the eternal love of the Father. Amen. :harp:

I understand what you are going through. Several years ago I was diognosed with Parkinsons and lost my job due to it. We went through all our savings, couldn’t make the car payments, lost car, couldn’t pay rent, lost home. My family and I were out in the streets my boys at that time were 6years old and 2 years old. We did stay with some undesirable people for a roof over our heads and so the kids would be out of the elliments. Well to make a long story short, I felt the same way you did, I cursed out God and told him how much I hated him for what he has done to me and my family. One day I prayed to God not thinking he would listen to me after what I said, let me tell you it was bad. Then one day everything came, it took many many months. I got my disability with no problems, we got a car, a place of our own to live and met some wonderful people that brought me to God. I since became a minister. My point to this is we don’t know why things happen the way they do, only God knows that at the time. God isn’t against you because you and your former wife divorced and that you re-married someone eles. I won’t go into the absolution thing but God isn’t concerned with that. You have found a wonderful wife who make you happy and is enough to keep you from ending it all. What ever you do don’t give up on prayer, God or you religious beliefs. With that said I’ll now pray for you.

Father, one of your children needs your help, he has lost almost all hope. Father give him the strenght to carry on and make him realize that he, no matter what, is not a failure. We know you hear our prayers and I ask that you help this man to a better life. Father he wants to receive communion but he is being held back. Father allow him to receive communion that means so much to him. Father I ask that you give him the strenght and the will to endure what he is going through. All things are possible through you. We know that no prayer that is said falls on deaf ears and I know with all your power and mercy you will help him.

Father,
Please hear his pleas.
he feels life is a burden,
give him new hope in You,
increase his faith and knowledge,
give him strenght to do Your will,
May he have pure joy of knowing and loving You and Your Son,
Have mercy on him oh Lord
I ask this through Christ.
Amen

Heavenly Father,
Tonight as our friend Aquinas
prepares for sleep
may he feel the reassurance of your deep abiding love.
Amen

Praying for you, friend.

Hail Mary,
Full of Grace,
The Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women,
and blessed is the fruit
of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary,
Mother of God,
pray for us sinners now,
and at the hour of death.
Amen.

O Christ Jesus,
when all is darkness
and we feel our weakness and helplessness,
give us the sense of Your presence,
Your love, and Your strength.
Help us to have perfect trust
in Your protecting love
and strengthening power,
so that nothing may frighten or worry us,
for, living close to You,
we shall see Your hand,
Your purpose, Your will through all things.
Amen

Today dear Lord may our friend Aquinas feel your presence and your love.
Amen

Loving Father, send your holy spirit to Aquinas62 at this time while he is unemployed, afraid, and shaken in his trust.

When he loses courage and hope while searching for work, be his rock of safety.

When he finds it hard to believe in his talents, revive in him an appreciation of the gifts you have given him.

When he begin to doubt his worth, help him to remember that heI does not need to earn your love.

When his fear take hold and start to overwhelm him, let him find comfort in your care for him and for those he loves.

Thank you for all those who continue to support and encourage him during this difficult time.

May it somehow bring him closer to one another and to you.

Also, Father send Aquinas62 someone to help him with paperwork for an annulment or lack of form judgment.

In Jesus’ name I pray.

Stop feeling sorry for your self. Have you an incurable illness? Are you starving from lack of food? Are you locked up & tortured as a political prisoner? Are you in constant physical pain?

None of the above? Really? - just got a loving wife+ car + TV +home + plenty of food. 99.9% of the world’s population don’t have any of that. Yet you still complain & say God doesn’t love you. Read what happened to Job if you really want to know what true desolation is.

Don’t worry about the laws of the Church - Jesus didn’t make any of these, just bureaucrats. Trust in God’s Mercy & lead a good life. No one expects you to walk away from your wife. She loves you & you her. These thoughts come from the Evil One.

Turn the mirror around & see how blessed you are rather than damned. Breathe God’s blessed free air & give thanks every day that you live in a free country. It could be a lot lot worse.
Have a Nice Day…
(Satan - not Jesus - wants you to end it all. I don’t think you are that stupid.)

I would like to thank everybody for their kind thoughts, you are truly wonderful people!!

To the above poster, you know nothing of my life or struggles… I know you meant well though and bless you for responding.

As the afternoon approaches Lord renew in Aquinas’ heart the knowledge of your love for him.

None of us from the sinner to the saint is worthy of that love yet you pour it out on us with abundance and without reserve.

Jesus our brother walk beside Aquinas today give him the strength to endure the courage to carry one and the ability to recognize that you have never left his side.

Amen

Can I relate to you!

You are what you are in the sight of God - nothing more or less. You are judging yourself according to the standards of the world. They are quite different from the “standards” of our Blessed Saviour and Redeemer!

Hang on! Get yourself some Holy Water and use it frequently. Above all, DO NOT DESPAIR! And don’t even contemplate suicide. Stay close to our Blessed Mother. There is all the hope in the world!

I will pray for you.
