My Jewish neighbors were very kind to me and offered me coffee.
Now I understand that they are not judging me, and saying goodbye is not final. I take words too literally.
A truly wise person is one who learns from their mistakes. If people don’t criticize others, then people don’t learn. That is what my grandfather taught me.
I am a mild recovering schizophrenic—a horrible disorder, possibly even disgraceful. I would rather prevent sin and experience shame than to learn.
I cannot thank them, so I will just think of them.
