Remember, O most loving Virgin Mary,
that never was it known,
that anyone who fled to your protection,
implored your help, or sought your intercession,
was left unaided.
Inspired by this confidence,
though burdened by my sins,
I fly to you, O Virgin of virgins, my Mother.
To you I come, before you I stand,
sinful and sorrowful.
O Mother of the Word Incarnate,
despise not my petitions, but in your mercy,
hear and answer me.
Amen

Prayer for a Safe Delivery

O great Saint Gerard, beloved servant of Jesus Christ,
perfect imitator of your meek and humble Savior,
and devoted child of Mother of God,
enkindle within Erika’s heart one spark of that heavenly fire of charity
which glowed in your heart and made you an angel of love.
O glorious Saint Gerard,
because when falsely accused of crime,
you did bear, like your Divine Master,
without murmur or complaint,
the calumnies of wicked men,
you have been raised up by God
as the patron and protector of expectant mothers.
Preserve Erika from danger
and from the excessive pains accompanying childbirth,
and shield the child which she now carries,
that he/she may see the light of day
and receive the purifying and life-giving waters of baptism
through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen.

Hey Erika!

Today is the feast day of Saint Gerard Majella,
patron saint of expectant mothers.
In life and since his death he is said to have helped so many women who have asked for his intercession that he earned the nickname the “Saint of Happy Delivery”
Mothers from all over the world have reportedly named their children "Gerard"in his honour in gratitude to him.
Please ask for his intercession.

Lord Jesus, I lovingly pray for erika this sweet hope
that she keep within her womb.
You have granted her the immense gift
of a tiny little life,
living in her own life,
and I humbly thank you for choosing her
as an instrument of your love.
In this sweet waiting,
help her to live in a constant attitude
of self-surrender to your will.

Grant erika a motherly heart that is pure,
steadfast and generous.
Hear her own concerns;
any anxious fears that may come,
her own wishes for the little person
that she still has no knowledge of.
Grant that it may be born healthy in body,
keep far from it every peril to its soul.

Mary, you have known
the ineffable joy of a holy motherhood;
give erika a heart that can transmit an ardent, living faith.
Sanctify her waiting,
bless this joyful hope that is in her,
grant that the fruit of her womb
may open out in virtue
and in holiness through your working
with that of your divine Son.

Amen.
