You mean like Pavlov’s dogs or Skinner’s operant conditioning? These things are alive and well in psychology, but it’s just a fraction of what psychology as a whole is all about.
 
I think meltzerboy nailed it. Psychology, as it applies to humans, almost always implies a way of thinking . I would say that anything which might be semblant of the robotic in our nature, has to do with the “fallen” part.

What God calls us to, is anything but robotic : It is the movement of the heart, the mind the body and the soul - in concert.

. . . :hmmm:. . . Since some definitions of idiot tend to associate the word with a person’s inability to think (at least at a higher than fundamental level [based solely on the opinion of more intelligent idiots - :D] ), it just might possibly be that I’m confusing/conflating the meaning of psychology with the meaning of philosophy. . . (which of course, would be an understandable error that might serve to reinforce theories asserting my own idiocy - 😉 ).
