I was brought up catholic, believed in God, but never wanted to follow the rules. I spent years abusing God’s mercy, doing what I want, thinking- i’ll say sorry when I die. at 19 I had a bit of a conversion, went to confession, but then fell back into my old ways,I have done the most horrific sins.
Two years ago I wanted to give my life to God, however, I was told by a number of people that we are in revelations and God has already marked people. I also discovered that abusing God’s mercy was blasphemy against the holy spirit. I opened my Bible and out read Ezikiel - this passage http://biblehub.com/ezekiel/7-4.htm

I am terrified

As long as you are living and breathing you still have hope to go to heaven, this is the teaching of the Church. God’s mercy is infinite, trust God and do not fear.

5 first Saturdays and 9 first Fridays may make you braver.

Don’t be afraid.

Edit:
Also abusing mercy is called presumption…

You are actually talking about obstinate final impenitence.

Edit 2: often times the question isn’t are we sinners… It’s is His sacrifice enough?

Ezekiel is talking about those who still commit evil and refuse to repent when Judgment Day comes.
Repent, and persevere.

Those people are incorrect. Christ came to save ALL, not just some.

You could also be apart of the elect in revelations. (edit: I want to make it clear, God doesn’t mark anyone. No one is predestined for one or the other.) In a way, our actions determine where we go. God may know where you end up, but you make the choices. Choose to depend on God, as though you are incapable of doing anything but through God, and do not worry. Spiritual reading also helps us to have an idea of what to do and encouragement to keep on persevering.

There are three conversions one can go through on our way to perfection:
http://www.newadvent.org/cathen/14254a.htm

Many saints reached the last stage and found it impossible to commit mortal sin simply because they loved God so much. It’s possible to reach this stage. Anyone can with determination and dependence on God.

There’s nothing wrong with being terrified, but we are called to move beyond fear.
God’s mercy is greater than your sins. End of story. Call on God.
(the people who gave you advice don’t know what they are talking about…sorry to be so blunt but they are simply wrong)
See a good priest and talk!!!

Take a deep breath. Calm down and remember God loves you and does not want to send you to hell.

Now, forget everything you heard about “we are in revelations and God has already marked people.” Catholicism, the true Faith, YOUR true Faith that you were baptized into, doesn’t believe in that gunk.
God is ready, waiting, and willing to forgive you and wipe the slate clean, as long as you say you are sorry, resolve to sin no more, and make a good confession.

Find a Catholic church to go to confession. If you want to you can call a priest and make an appointment. Or just go during scheduled confession time, walk in, get in line. But go! Confess! As soon as possible! You are already repentant if you have “wanted to give your life to God” for two years. Don’t delay any more.

While you’re waiting for confession time to roll around, you can tell Jesus you are sorry. Say an Our Father. You can also say a Hail Mary (I’m sure you remember that from being brought up Catholic) and ask Mother Mary to help you, to send you some of God’s grace to help with your anxiety.

Here’s some Catholic testimony for you to read. This man committed a murder and went to prison for 18 years and yet he was able to repent and get back to the Catholic Church. If he can do it, so can you!

Just go back to Confession ASAP and then get right back to going to Mass at least every Sunday and ask God to help you…things will get a lot better and you won’t have these incorrect worries about revelations and being “marked” any more.

I will pray for you. God bless.

If your sincerity in repentance is truth, then so shall Gods mercy reflect it equally in the mirror.

In the vein of that same truth however, nobody can really comment on your words. We don’t know you and so often; people return to sinful ways.

Listen to these other comments. God will judge, not the idle fancies of mortals.

You have nothing to fear, except yourself.

That is good, for if you will turn from sin, you can confess properly with at least attrition:
1453 The contrition called “imperfect” (or “attrition”) is also a gift of God, a prompting of the Holy Spirit. It is born of the consideration of sin’s ugliness or the fear of eternal damnation and the other penalties threatening the sinner (contrition of fear). Such a stirring of conscience can initiate an interior process which, under the prompting of grace, will be brought to completion by sacramental absolution. By itself however, imperfect contrition cannot obtain the forgiveness of grave sins, but it disposes one to obtain forgiveness in the sacrament of Penance. 52

“…When you go to confession, to this fountain of My mercy, the Blood and Water which came forth from My Heart always flows down upon your soul and ennobles it. Every time you go to confession, immerse yourself entirely in My mercy, with great trust, so that I may pour the bounty of My grace upon your soul. When you approach the confessional, know this, that I Myself am waiting there for you. I am only hidden by the priest, but I Myself act in your soul. Here the misery of the soul meets the God of Mercy. Tell souls that from this fount of mercy souls draw graces solely with the vessel of trust. If their trust is great, there is no limit to My generosity…”

Ever hear this? This is from the Diary of St. Faustina. Jesus so badly wanted the world to know and trust in His Mercy, He appeared to her many times to tell her of it. Through her, He made known His desire for a feast day to be established in honor of it. Divine Mercy Sunday is celebrated the Sunday following Easter. There was also a painting done, at Our Lord’s request.

Notice how it says “Jesus I Trust in You!” at the bottom. God chose that message Himself. You’re not prejudged. You’re not doomed. Flee to His Mercy. He’ll welcome you with loving joy beyond your wildest imaginings.

Best of luck, I’m praying for you. One more quote from the Diary of St. Faustina, said by Jesus: “‘I am love and Mercy Itself. There is no misery that could be a match for My mercy, neither will misery exhaust it, because as it is being granted – it increases. The soul that trusts in My mercy is most fortunate, because I Myself take care of it.’” (1273, page 459)

I struggle with this as well. I will pray for you tonight! Sorry you are going through this - I know how hopeless it can seem. When I feel able to, I try to pray the Divine Mercy Chaplet through these feelings. It seems like it helps sometimes. It at least (usually) calms me down if I’m feeling overwhelmed by this.

That’s a great idea! @simonjosiah1 do you pray the Divine Mercy Chaplet?

Two years ago I wanted to give my life to God, however, I was told by a number of people that we are in revelations and God has already marked people.
But Jesus said no man knows the hour. Who are you going to believe?
Come back home to God. He loves you more than you can imagine.

You don’t have to go to Hell, but if you do, make sure you’re in a handbasket (jk).

Seriously, go to confession and have a priest help you sort it out.

A man, hanging on a cross to the right of Jesus on Good Friday was also afraid of going to hell. He sincerely asked Jesus for a simple remembrance when Jesus came into his kingdom. A simple thief, not a assembly of holy men and women, escorted the King of Kings into heaven that day.

As long as you draw breath, you have the ability to change your course.

Shalom!

Whoever told you that is telling you a bunch of lies.

Please stop interpreting the Bible literally. Remember Ezekiel had to lay on one side for over a year, then on his other. He was a prophet. And his job was to tell the rebellious Israelites to turn back to God.

Please go straight to confession and then back into Mass.

Jesus said himself that He came to call sinners
