I believe in Christ, but why should I join the Catholic Church.
I’ve heard that prior to the 20th century the Catholic Church always taught that you had to be a Catholic to be saved, so it made sense as to why someone would have to join. But I have heard that this teaching has become highly qualified / stretched since then to mean that pretty much anyone can be saved, even non-Christians.
So why should I become a Catholic if I can go to heaven in any church or in no church at all? I know that it’s said that the Catholic Church has the full truth whereas other religions have only partial truth, but who cares about living a few years on earth with only partial truth if one gets to go to heaven and experience the full truth face-to-face for eternity regardless?
Thank you!
