While I love the Nicene Creed, this part has always really stood out for me. It’s beautiful, and a theological help too!
 
I believe I am hunger
And I am going to make
A sandwich
It will have lettuce
It will have tomatoe
It will have turkey
It will have pickles
It will taste yummy
And it will fill me up
I believe in lots of things
The Holy Church
The communion of saints
The forgiveness of sins
And right now I believe I am hungry

So why are you still NOT a catholic?🤷

What unites us is a greater reason you’re supposed to have come back now…
What separates us is too minor a reason to keep you outside of the true Church!

Is Jesus Christ your King?

a civil discussion of differences is necessary for people earnestly seeking the truth. many noted protestant ministers who journeyed home to rome got their start from honest exchange of ideas.👍

I too love the Nicene creed as well as the Apostles. From the fight against the Arianist heresy came a great creed.

When I returned to the Catholic faith the Nicean Creed was the one I chose to proclaim to the witnesses.

You can sing the Star-Spangled Banner all day BUT that wouldn’t make you an American, would it? Because you’re not.
Likewise, you can recite the Nicene creed all day BUT that wouldn’t mean you are a genuine catholic, would it? Because you’re not.

Copycats are so prevalent nowadays… From professing the creeds, to wearing clerical dresses like bishops or priests, to Church’ name (as ‘catholic’ in the creed), and even the Eucharist :mad: … all trying to confuse and mislead weak souls to believing they are genuine churches just because their leaders say so…and trying to become or to show that their churches are co-equal with the one true Church. But still, equality is not unity.

To be united with the true Church is to remove what separates us. To accept all her teachings and discard all heretical beliefs.

So, how can you claim to say He’s your King if you remain outside the authority of His Church?
Can you remain with a rebelling sect, reject whom He has sent, and still claim to be under His Kingship?

And if you don’t see the Catholic Church as the one true church… well, that’s funny!

Well to avoid being uncharitable, this will be my last response to you.
You are saying I am ‘pretending to be a catholic’, no I’m not.
If your way of being a witness is by mocking me and my faith, then so be it. But I’ll play no part in this.
 
it doesn’t matter to me, personally.
what matters is what i say… what the catholic Church say.
