I’m so happy! 🙂 I had been using a rosary that was given to my oldest son when he made confirmation. I wanted one that I could call mine. I went to the Catholic store and found one. 🙂 It is a Divine Mercy rosary. My son told me that he had plans on buying me one. I told him to buy another one for me anyway. 😃
For those that have rosaries…How many do you have and what do they look like?

I remember the first one I received…well, I received two close together…so one was rose scented beads and the other blue glass beads…

I have quite a few…also, have one made by an inmate…I don’t know which I prefer as I like them all. Praying the Rosary is very special indeed:thumbsup:

Hmm? On the back of the Divine Mercy image there is a little holder and it has the words eau de lourdes. What does that mean? Thanks!

I’ve got TONS of Rosaries!

My RCIA Sponsor gave me a clear crystal 1st Communion one at Easter Vigil and I’ve got it in a safe place.

I’ve also got several wooden ones with papal crosses, several rose ones that are scented, a pearl one with the main Rome churches as the Our Father beads, I got a JPII one in the mail the other day, I’ve got two white Murano Glass ones that have little roses painted on them, two pink quartz ones, one lavendar murano glass one that is little and I love it. And probably some that I can’t remember right now!

I love rosaries, all of mine have been blessed (some even by the Holy Father) and I try to use all of them at times. There are some that I use for particular things such as a rosary novena or when I pray the rosary with a prayer to a particular saint or a particular one for the Divine Mercy chaplet or other chaplets. I know that probably sounds silly but I want to get some use out of them!

Hello Tex Rose “eau de Lourdes” means water from the shrine at Lourdes. You are very blessed to have such Rosary beads.
Please pray for me and my family,
God Bless
Grace Angel.

I bought a rose scented rosary that has water from Lourdes and one of my Catholic friends’ at work has a daughter that wanted a rose scented one so I told her she could have that one to give to her and apparantely the daughter liked it so much and is afraid it will get messed up when she takes it to school she has hidden it and no one but her knows where it is so only she can use it at home! 😃 She’s so funny! She does the same thing with the baby Jesus in the nativity at Christmas. Her mom sometimes forgets and puts Him out before Christmas and she goes and gets him and hides him until its time for Jesus to be born! Oh the joy of children! Can’t wait til I’ve got some of my own!!

Thank you. I will say a prayer for you and your family. :gopray2:

I have three.
One I made out of old sandalwood beads that I had bought, during my New Age wilderness years, from a Buddhist site as “prayer beads”. I dismantled them, and patterned the rosary after one I’d seen designed in JPII’s honor, since I feel that he, along with Our Lady, were the biggest hands at my back in guiding me home to the Church. I thought it was important to take a symbolic part of my spiritual wanderings and recast it in a way that was pleasing to God.

The other two I bought. One is made of buri seeds, which is called “poor man’s ivory” (because that’s what it looks like), with square, terra cota colored palm Paters. The other is made of champagne colored pearls, with pink Paters and crystal spacers, very girly, which I loved.

My daughter (4) has one I got in the mail- red plastic “crystal” beads, with, (of all things!) JPII medals as Paters.

My son, (2) has one made of orange plastic with beads shaped like orange turtles (his favorite) for the Paters. It’s strung on twine, cheap looking, practically indestructable, and he loves it!

I love rosaries. It’s another show of how our God understands that He created us to be body and spirit, that He would give us such a beautiful spiritual devotion that can be wedded to such aestetic beauty as well.

I have a lot. I still have the first one my mother gave me when I was 6 and we were living in Germany. I have a Lourdes rosary with the water from Lourdes, one from the 84 World’s Fair in New Orleans, and many others. Right now my daughter-in-law has my Lourdes rorsary and I’m praying it will help her convert. I have a small one that I carry in my pocket all the time - if I do forget I feel like I’m not completely dressed.

That is wonderful that you got a Divine Mercy Rosary! I just received 2 days ago a large Poster Print of the Divine Mercy that I had ordered. 😃 Please pray for me on your wonderful new Rosary and I will pray for you as well.

I have MANY rosaries…I make corded bead rosaries and have bought the others that I have…BUT my most favorite Rosary was the one given to me at age 10 by my favorite teacher “Sister Rose”. Its a black-wooden bead rosary that has a very interesting center with the Sacred Heart of Jesus on one side and Our Lady of Mount Carmel on the other side with a stamp that says France.

Being young I never thought to ask of its origin and so I wonder now whether Sister Rose had bought the Rosary in France or it was given to her.

All Rosary’s are special…each with many stories held in bead after bead of prayers…being handed down from generation to generation. I don’t think I’ll ever know the origin of this Rosary I was given but I’m sure God will tell me all about it when I face him on Judgement Day. 😉

Thank you very much! :tiphat: Perhaps you will post some of your drawings as well… 😉

I hope to see pics of other Rosary’s that CAF’ers own. 😃

I have a Celtic one with shamrocks on the beads, the typical First Communion kind, one from Jerusalem with dirt from Jerusalem in it, one that I made myself, and my favorite one is a small all-olive-wood one from Bethlehem that I got at Confirmation.

Good idea!! I’d like to see the rosaries too. 🙂
I have several Rosaries. Most were gifts from friends. Here’s the one I’m carrying in my pocket right now - it was made for me by Marta Toltesi, who is a wonderful lady who lives in my city, and has dedicated her whole life to making rosaries. She also teaches a Rosary making class every Tuesday morning.

Hey all,

I’ve got three. My favorite which is a cheap 50 cent plastic one made by the sisters is has got a broken bead on it. So I just hang it on the doorknob of my front door now.

I have a workers rosary made of wood with an ingraved crucifix and little stickers on the Our Father beads depicting little pictures of Our Lady and Jesus. I wear this one all the time (under my shirt, it’s the easiest way to carry it).

And I have one of olivewood from Israel. I love them all because they were all given to me and have sentimental attachment to the person who gave me them. And they mean all the more to me having had them blessed.

I have several rosaries.
My favorite is a black Men’s Rosary from the Shrine of Our Lady of the Snows in Belleville, ILL (Oblates). It has 6mm round black glass beads that are lock-linked, and a nice, heavy crucifix. It cost me I think about 18.00

I also have a very lightweight shiny brown oval wood bead men’s rosary that I really like to keep in my pocket at all times. I usually pray my daily rosary on it as I’m coming home from work on the bus.

My first rosary was a blue glass round 6mm lock linked bead rosary with a simple crucifix. I also had a green bead one just like it. I can’t find ANY of this style ANYWHERE anymore, and I’d really like to buy one cuz my first rosary still has sentimental value to me. Oh well.

I make rosaries for Rosary Army, & if you count all the half- or three-quarters finished ones, I have about a hundred.
When they are finished they are going off to RA, & will be distributed to others.
And yes, I have several rosaries of:) my own…
