I bought this small wallet-like thing from church today. It has four medals, the miraculous medal a Lourdes medal, a crucifix and I’m not sure what the other medal is is. It has a picture of Jesus with a heart on his chest.

The left sleeve has the madonna with two angels and on the right in French is written, “Je suis Catholique En cas d’accident veuillez appeler un Pretre”- I’m a Catholic, encase of an accident, please call a Priest?

Has anyone seen one of these before? I got it because I wanted a miraculous medal and this comes with four different types. Would the devotion be valid if I carry it in my purse? (bearing in mind I won’t have it with me all the time).

Also, is there a devotion for the Lourdes, and the other medal? They’ve been blessed. I’m assuming whoever has this is supposed to do a devotion for all medals individually or something?

They are not articles that contain powers in and of themselves, so that carrying them in a purse, or even wearing them on your person, would provide some physical protection. The protection is in your belief that you can call upon Jesus at any time, and to Mary and the saints to pray for you and intercede on your behalf, and you will be heard. Carry them in your purse, but take the little wallet out when you feel the need to pray, or have some quiet time, or if you feel afraid or lonely. Pray the prayer that corresponds to the devotion that appeals to your heart. It’s not necessary to have a devotion to all four, although you may. In any case, you will be blessed.

The one medal is the Sacred Heart of Jesus. All the devotions can be found through an internet search.
