I can Only Imagine

Just wondering if any of you Catholic Folks have seen the movie and if so what you thought about it?

I found it to be a great story of how God can completely change someone’s heart. As someone who started listening to Contemporary Christian Music back in the early 90’s it also struck a cord. It is amazing how much music can effect someone’s outlook on life.

I was flipping through the TV channels and saw the two producers/directors of the Movie being interviewed on EWTN which is what prompted this post.

I go to almost no movies but I will be going to the St. Paul movie.

Due to my respect for you Ianman87, I am adding this movie to my “go see” list now too.

From watching the trailer, this will really resonate with a portion of the “Fatherless America” scenario in our country with many viewers (sounds like the protagonist was functionally “fatherless”).

Looks like a very good movie.

I’m not Catholic, but no matter what Church you belong to this movie was amazing, a must see…I highly recommmend it for all Christians…shows love, caring, forgivness and most of all The Love of Our Father.

The same friend I saw Paul The Apostle with today suggested we see I Can Only Imagine, too. We’ll see it sometime after Easter. I hope it’s still in theaters then.

It is the story of Bart Millard. He is the lead singer of Contemporary Christian Music Group Mercy Me. This is the story of the inspiration of the song “I Can Only Imagine” which is the best selling Christian Music Single of all time and got significant airplay on secular radio.

Bart’s dad was abusive and his mom left when he was young. It is a story of brokenness and grace and forgiveness that inspired Bart to write the song.
