I found this and I wanted to share it. I am not used to chant and I hadn’t heard it ever until I was about 15. However, Gregorian Chant is truly beautiful…heavenly. I should share this with you. I don’t know where chant will take me, but we will see. I hope you enjoy and please respond.
This is polyphony, which is not equivalent to Gregorian Chant, but it arose from and was influenced by chant. Polyphonic music is second only to Chant, as far as liturgical music is concerned.

But yes, this is beautiful rendition of Ave Verum.

Truly beautiful!

:harp: :heaven:
Yes, indeed! :yup:

I didn’t know that. I guess I learned something new. 🙂
eyes wide is that what heaven sounds like?
:rotfl:

I don’t know for sure, but it does sound like what we traditionally associate with sanctity and Heaven, doesn’t it?

Welcome to the world of fine choral works! This piece is in the standard repertoire for classical choirs, and most folks who have ever sung in a choir at the college/university level probably know it by heart – I do! 🙂 BTW, this is by Mozart, written far later than Gregorian chant, but if you like this, please do yourself a favor and check out Mozart’s “Requiem.” 👍
