I cannot figure out this site. And where are the dates? I’m totally confused. When I click a category, it says no more posts.

What I would like to know is why the gift of faith wasn’t given to me earlier in my life. I converted from agnosticism when I was 35.

The date is by the pencil at the top right hand corner of each post. I have the same problem with the categories. I find it easier to go to the “All categories” to find the different threads. Hope this helps you use this site.

Yes, dates are in the top right hand corner of each post.

I think there is a glitch with the categories. If you click on one and then select “none” in the drop box, the threads will be there.

Thanks. I can’t find my topic in the main list, but I found your reply under Unread. I 'm not going to be able to use this site. Someone else responded to my post, but I don’t know how to respond to them. Why and when did CA make this change of its website?

I cannot find this topic in the list. I won’t be using this site again. It’s too frustrating. They took something that worked and broke it.

If you select the arrow in the bottom right of that person’s post, it will bring up the reply box.

It changed in September 2017. I hope you will keep trying. You can respond by clicking on “Reply” either at the bottom of the post you want to respond to.

Oh, I saw Site Feedback, and then finally was shown a list in which my post is listed.
And now the panel to the right of this box is lecturing me on how to post.

You should have a circle at the top right of your screen with your avatar. There should be a blue number when someone replies to your threads.

But isn’t “being open” itself something like “grace,” a gift? I could have used faith earlier in my life. Instead, I made terrible mistakes and now am chronically ill with COPD because I smoked for 47 years while I self-medicated myself in my miserable, lonely existence. I spent 17 years searching, and finally found Him when I was 35, and now, 36 year later, I am wondering why I couldn’t have been saved earlier.

Also, if you want to PM someone you can go to the bottom of their post and click on the links. It will tell you what thread and the number of that post. It will allow you to PM that individual.

So if you click a category, there should be two boxes, one with the category name and one saying “all”. If you click on the one saying “all” an option will come up for “none”. Apologies for not being clearer.

The gift of faith was sitting there, waiting for you to accept it!!

It’s like listening to your parents or totally ignoring them.

We all make mistakes in our youth. The Old Testament is full of laments about the folly of youth!

But then, we learn and grow with these mistakes, so it’s not a waste .

You know, give thanks that you found a God, and have repented, and are saved.

Hello This one,

I have moved your thread to “Catholic Living/ Spirituality” section.

For those categories that say “No more”, try clicking on “all in ______” and selecting “none” - all the threads should come up then. Or you can select a specific Category from the dropdown you get, to see threads from that category.

We all have free will. God has been there for all of eternity, it was up to you to accept Him. You chose to accept Him at 36.

Dwelling on the past is a pointless exercise. It is impossible to change past decisions. Focus on this very moment and bask in the glow of God’s love.

I have seen the excellent recommendation in the past that says, “act as if.” Say your prayers, go to Mass and confession.

If you accept faith on the outside, you will find at some point you have it on the inside. In essence you are saying to God, “I am not feeling it, but I am going to trust you, and trust in the fact at some point, I will start feeling all of this on the inside.” And then at some point you will. It worked for me.

I do rejoice that the Lord loves me, but I thought we should not presume that we are saved. I have to use oxygen 24/7, and I am having a hard time.
