I cannot find a site online that sells fascias (cassock band cinctures) that are real (non-velcro)

I’ve been looking around online and have been to several dozen websites and I cannot find a site that sells fascias (cassock band cinctures) that are real.

They all have velcro closings, or snapping buttons. Doesn’t anyone make a fascia that you have to tie? If you know a place, let me know, otherwise I think I’m going to head down to a an art supply store and buy some cloth and make one myself. It can’t be that hard. It’s just a strip of cloth, right?

Apparently, I can’t post a pic, because I’m a “trial” memeber… who knew

It has been a very long time indeed since I saw a fascia that one had to tie. If, however, that is what you wish, I would suggest finding a knowledgeable ecclesiastical tailor. Gammarelli, on the other hand, could certainly supply one for you.
 
You do not say if you are in the USA. There is a store in Boston, Mass., USA, that sells all kinds of church merchandise; however, I could not tell if theirs has no Velcro. Their website is

The fascia appears expensive!

The other one that appears hopeful is

I cannot understand their selling “holy water” for that may not be sold!

You might also look at the sewing pattern catalogs from McCalls, Simplicity, etc., and they might have some. If you are not in the States, ask someone who sews about the local sewing pattern company names.

If you tie it, silk is one fabric that does not come undone when tied – it is used for tying the kimono and ukata in place and they hold great!
