I can't live like this

Every day I try to work on a personal project I start to become completely reliant on impressions from the Holy Spirit. On top of that, I get impressions that I should work on this aspect or that aspect of it, or I should just stop working on it all together and do something else. When I have an actual commission from a paying client, this oversensitivity goes away, but I just have to wonder why I can’t ever work on other things without this happening to me.

I have tried following these impressions and have wound up wasting entire evenings only to learn that I didn’t discern properly and it was all in my head. I can’t live my life chasing after these feelings, and I wanted to ask for rayer that if I am misunderstanding something about spiritual discernment, that I would be teachable and humbly submit to it and have the fortitude to perservere, because I know that I am at fault somehow.
 
Praying for you. I’ve went through something like this last year and it ended up backfiring for me badly.

Praying for you and hoping you can get some relief soon. You can edit your posts within a brief time after posting but I urge you to leave yours alone. Many people will empathize with what you are experiencing and it will be a help to them to know they aren’t the only ones suffering through it. God bless you.

Make use, I implore you, of that particular privilege accorded to you of bringing visible and speedy help where help is almost despaired of. Come to my assistance in this great need, that I may receive the consolations and succor of heaven in all my necessities, tribulations and sufferings, in particular (Maggie and her husband), and that I may bless God with you and all the elect throughout eternity. Thank you all for your prayers. I really appreciate it. Things have gotten a lot better, and I was able to overcome a large hurdle the other day with this. I felt like I was doing something that really pleased God and I was able to realize that I was becoming superstitious. I ask God’s blessing on all of you.
