I can't sleep!

Please pray that I can fall asleep quickly after posting this.
I couldnt sleep until after 3.30am last night and then had to wake up at 8.40am. I have to get up at about 6.30am at the latest this morning to embark on my last exam. Althought I feel more tired than ever I cannot shut my brain off, maybe due to stress, I don’t know.
I’ve prayed a lot but thought I could use reinforcements 😉
thanks all. I’m literally typing this in bed (the joys of modern technology!) so I’m trying to sleep again…now…
 
oh no!
I got up to go to the bathroom, and in the bath was a massive moth. At first I thought it was a spider because I didn’t have glasses on and everything was blury. So I got a bit freaked out.
Came back into my room and there was a spider on my floor! ARGH!
I tried to get rid of it (not killing it, just take it outside) but the thing ran under my bed so I can’t get to it.
I know I shouldn’t be but I’m super freaked out now and stressed out even more because I don’t know how I’ll ever get to sleep.
My head hurts so much from the already lack of sleep that my body is experiencing. I’m scared going to sleep for less than 4 hours (probably maximum of 3 at this rate!) will make my headache worse?
please Lord help me to fall asleep soon and please make sure no spiders come back 😦

I feel your pain. I work 12-16 hours a day, starting at 6-630 am. That means I need to be awake at NLT 615, assuming no shower or breakfast. Last night I didnt fall asleep till 330 either. I just pray you are sleeping right now, as I will be shortly.

😦 I feel so bad for you!! I usually fall asleep at 5:00 am!! (Don’t have to be up until 11:00am, though) I noticed you were trying to sleep at only 7:30 pm! Maybe this is too early for you! And the more you lay in bed worried, the more awake you become! You have to try to completely exhaust yourself (I’m sure you have tried this already, though!) - sometimes when I can’t sleep (my brain never shuts off either) I will force myself to sit up with a bright light and read or watch a really boring movie, but force myself to sit up and just pretend I don’t care about sleeping- I usually start getting really tired, but I know if I try to sleep, my mind will start wandering again, so I keep forcing myself until I literally pass out from exhaustion. (sounds awful, but sometimes it’s the only way to do it:) The biggest trick here is sitting straight up!! If you let your body rest, then your mind will keep wandering, but if your body starts getting uncomfortable, then your mind will also get tired!!! Try this sometime, it really does work! 🙂 Praying for you!

I know it’s hard when you are scared of spiders (I used to be terrified) I seriously don’t know what happened, but I LOVE spiders now! lol, it freaks everyone out when I hold them, but they really are cute! 😉 I KNOW that doesn’t help when you are scared, but two things to always remember about spiders- they don’t hang around in bunches, like other bugs-yuck! So that is a good thing! And the other thing is-they usually don’t hang around the same place for too long, so it’s probably long gone by now. 🙂

Hi thanks for your advice.
I’m not sure where you got 7.30pm from? My first post was at 1.06am! I’m in England and went to bed just before midnight. Believe me exhausted wasn;t/isn’t the correct word! I tried that, which is why I ended up getting up and going the bathroom (big mistake!)
All in all I think I had less than 2 and half hours of real sleep. The only plus is that whatever time I eventually fall asleep tonight I don’t have to get up any time in particular so can hopefully catch up on sleep then.
I feel SO bad I don’t know how I’m going to be able to do well in this exam 😦

Is there any way that you can request a postponement of your exam? 🤷:confused:
 
Jesus please grant peace and sleep to those struggling to rest. Help those who are ill, worried and unhappy to sleep in peace.
Please give Your great kindness and Your loving presence to insomniacs
including those who are ill and in pain,
to those who are unable to rest due to anxieties and traumas.

Please help milletsmo in all her challenges and difficulties.
