I’m watching a Hitchcock flick called “I Confess”. It’s about a man who kills someone, then confesses his crime to the priest. Then the priest falls under suspicion for the crime, but of course, he can’t tell the police what he knows!

I’ve seen this film a while ago and really liked it!

It was originally a play, a French play I think, but they had to make some changes to the ending. I think there are too few depictions of good priests in the media…

Haha, every nervous convert should watch it before their first confession!
 
I’ve read before that Hitchcock, a cradle Catholic, was always obsessed with the idea of a priest being bound by the statutes of the Catholic Church, and how far they would go to maintain the integrity of confession. This was one of the first films Hitch wanted to make.
 
Yes montgomery clift played the part of the priest.
He was very believable. A good movie.
