the occult may seem very funny and cool and dark and mysterious and interesting and awesome at first, but all of that is just one big lie, it really is sad, depressing, it brings you into a state of depression and misery and hopelessness. God says to avoid the occult, and he knows best, so don’t even open up that pandora’s box of demonic possession and demonic opression.

it always comes very slowly. You get fascinated it for about several months or so, maybe even almost a year, and it just seems like some vague secret mysterious thing in the background, it eventually starts to feel very real, then it starts to feel somewhat real and very real and your mood gets blackened and depressed and misreable, but like in a very mysterious kind of way, and then, all of a sudden, BOOM, it becomes very real and U become possessed and super depressed and sad and you just want to break free. You literally feel tormented and in a state of perpetural emotional darkness like youve never ever seen before.

i asked god to deliver me from the occult, and it worked…

O Sacred Heart of Jesus,
we place our trust in Thee,
Whatever may befall us ,Lord,
though dark the hour may be;
In all our woes, in all our joys,
though nought but grief we see,
O Sacred Heart of Jesus,
we place our trust in Thee!

Hello brother,
We are going to pray for your battle.
Please ask the Holy Spirit to help you all the way. All you need is… ask the Holy Spirit to come and stay with you.
I can’t explain in detail, but God’s power is within your reach…it’s your faith.
You’re baptized…so you are “God’s property”…the chosen people…
Never ever step back in your faith…
This prayer should help your battle:

God bless you always…

Sorry, I only got notice of that thread today, so I hurry to answer as follows:
I converted to Roman Catholicism
And you know of curse, that Jesus said in Mt 18,13 that heavens rejoices over the the one who returned more than over the ninety-nine that never went astray. So, you are privileged and have all chances to become one of the first in heaven - see Mt 19,30.
I was deeply involved in Satanism.
Hoping that you not used your real name - not to challenge Satanists to harm you for falling off them and telling details; I would like to ask you some questions about Satanists:

Satanists believe in Satan. But since they believe that Satan is alive and really existent, they of course also know, that God is alive and exists. Else they wouldn’t worship God’s opponent Satan and his daemons.
I then realized that God had more power that the demons which I worshipped and worked with
But Satanists do know this if they are not totally stubborn. They know, that Satan lost all his battles versus God. Last big battle was Jesus’ resurrection and His victory in hell. Not even speaking of Satan’s temptation of Jesus which of course failed.
My girlfriend… talked with me about Satanism and about how God uses bad experiences in life to bring people to Him.
Rubbish. God let’s it up to out free will and never “uses bad experiences in life to bring people to Him”; though some people only through such bad experience finally recognize God’s strength - such as you.
If this girl is still Saanist, dn’t marry her! Or else it will all end in a huge disaster!
decided to throw out all my occult stuff and join the Catholic Church. It’s a struggle, but I’m doing my best to live by Christ’s commandments and live as God wills me to.
Of course it’s a struggle, and God never said His way is an easy way. The way to hell is the comfortable way.
I’m under pressure often to return to the occult, but I know this would be a grave sin and I dont want to go back. The power you gain from Satanism is highly addicting
You don’t say! Power Satan gives or gave you? NEVER! The powers God gives you are much stronger. And to be with God and God with us every day - that way never to be alone, is a treasure uncomparable with anything any other belief apparently is supposed to give.
Are you actually sure, that you spit into Satan’s face and NEVER EVEN THINK to return. I got some doubts on that, when you say “The power you gain from Satanism is highly addicting”.
but it doesnt compare to the peace that Jesus gives. I just wanted to share this testimony and ask that you pray for me that God would bless my life as I live for Him and for protection against my old companions, as I’m sure they are angry with me.
This worldly fear of former companions, I addressed at the beginning when I wrote “Hoping that you not used your real name - not to challenge Satanists”. But that’s merely worldly the police can take care of. You ought to sue these bastards, for they bring harm over so many. The Police is at this point your partner.
Satanists are advised far better to fear God, for they will be condemned to hell in eternity. And it’ll be then, when these stubborn will realize, that Satan doesn’t care a dime for them. In fact he hates them and he even hates himself, and these Satanists who think they worshiped a mighty daemon in order to share his might one day, will have to find out, that when they are with them, they are nothing but dirt to them.
I still find myself under constant attack from the enemy through temptation and nightmares.
Oh, anybody who let Satan get near him, will henceforth be troubled by him, for the worse that can happen to him is, having to live a defeat. The more you remember the “The power you gained from Satanism as highly addicting”, the more Satan will tempt you by all his ways and means, to come back. Yes, I prayed, that God will give you the strength to fight that battle you have to go through. But it’s up to you now, if you hard-charging profess and confess with all your might to God. Do never imagine this an easy way, for it’s going to be hard. But the reward is outrageous. It makes the difference between hell and heaven. A life with God an the Angels, or a unspeakably filthy and eternally painful life as the dirt under Satan’s feet.

Thanks for the response back. However I want to clear up some stuff.
My fiancee has never been a Satanist. She was raised baptist and is now a non-denominational christian.
Yes, that is my real name I used. None of Satan’s servants can harm me either physically or through spiritual means unless God allows it. I’m not concerned about them.
Also, keep in mind that not all Satanists believe in Satan as a real entity. Most are LaVayen Satanists, which are atheistic. They look at Satan as a symbol, not as a deity to be worshipped. Theistic Satanists do. (I was theistic)
If you have any questions about Satanism, feel free to ask me via email or private message. Thanks 🙂

When God has strengthened you then you will be able to strengthen your brother. You have lived a life not many have chosen and you escaped, what a blessing. If ever you are in trouble, say the name of Jesus out loud.

I have had a few run ins with demons, they have choked me, and tormented me. Whenever I said the name of Jesus, they would flee. In the “Unbound” conference I mentioned earlier they speak of 5 keys.

The 5 Keys are:
Code:
                                          Faith and Repentance
                                          Forgiveness
                                          Renunciation
                                          Taking Authority
                                          The Blessing of the Father
Renouncing and taking authority goes something like this: "In the name of Jesus I renounce the spirit of… (lust, greed, maliciousness, choking, pride, etc) and I command them to leave now! Receiving the Father’s blessing is when you hear/receive God speaking a word of validation or confirmation to you. He may use a Priest, a friend, a song on the radio, something that will speak to your heart.

“You are my beloved son on whom my favor rests.” or “I will send my angels to keep watch over you.” or “Nothing can take you from My hands.”

My fiancee has never been a Satanist. She was raised Baptist and is now a non-denominational Christian
Did she get engaged with you when you still hanged on to Satan? I don’t know any Christian who ever would. Did she then reconciliate you with God?
Yes, that is my real name I used. None of Satan’s servants can harm me either physically or through spiritual means unless God allows it
Oh, they can attack you physically. They can’t attack your soul however, if you ask God for help and really try to live in Jesus Christ’s word – which is not at all easy, though believe ad togetherness with God is easy to achieve, since Jesus promised to be with us always IF WE BELIEVE IN HIM.
I’m not concerned about them
Good for you 🙂
Also, keep in mind that not all Satanists believe in Satan as a real entity
In that case it’s not Satanism, but simply the sinful “joy of being bad” - just psychopaths who wanna feel “strong”. In a TV-report I heard such misled people proudly say: “I am mean!” They enjoy the fear of them some perceive. I myself don’t fear them, but I jolly well fear very strongly the nearness of the daemons who accompany them – so to speak as their individual probation officer for hell.
Though a daemon fears even more us, as we got our guardian Angel with us, and as my father used to say: “When you got God with you, then you even might walk straight through hell and even spit on Satan’s head, without him even being able to touch you in the slightest way”. Any daemon is as helpless as a little baby, if we live in God’s doctrine. Then we are stronger than the whole hell with all it’s daemons.
Most are LaVayen Satanists, which are atheistic. They look at Satan as a symbol, not as a deity to be worshipped
I dare to doubt that, for then they’d be nothing but a disturbed bunch of psychopaths. They who even got altars to worships (as you told), does worship and as you told even prays - TO A PERSON. If not, then it’s nothing but a terribly silly game of some nuts. What other would they have even altars for?
Theistic Satanists do. (I was theistic)
Even worse. Theistic= the belief in a living God or just as living daemon; in any case a person, which is anything but atheist, which means non-personal= nothing.
In fact up to this point it sounds that you as a theistic Satanist where devoted to the alive person of Satan himself, whilst the rest of your club saw the whole thing as a thrilling kiddy adventure instead of real death. But how come, that one or two of these satanists are “theistic” and others just playing a mean game? Games indeed too can be deadly though –even eternally deadly.

I highly honor your step away from all this dirt and filth and deadly stuff related to hell and nearness to Satan. Though I might have misunderstood some you wrote, it still seems partly controversial and partly the opposite of what you said in your opening post. For now you say it’s simply symbols the rest of those people adore and even worship, whilst you indeed served Satan as theist Satanist. However; he who worships Satan and his daemons even with altars and pray to him, is indeed Satan’s helper on earth – far away of any game. Lost souls who in fact are already dead.
Somehow I don’t look through this, though I thanked God and asked God to help you to get off it completely and even fight Satanism of any color.
Many questions remain! But since you got so many sympathetic answers and prayers from all here in this topic, they all deserve the information which I can’t claim for me alone, and rather answer now here publicly to all concerned in this forum.
Still; if you feel like answering to me privately, you are welcome and here is my private address:

I’m away from tomorrow on, though I got the laptop with me, I don’t know how fast I can answer next week.
to be continued below that one

I at first didn’t really think it’s useful to put that into CAF, mainly because it’s my too simple pidgin-English that doesn’t fathom deep enough. But our friends here deserve more information and you deserve our interest and concern about your great step.
Let’s with all these thoughts strongly keep in mind, that not only your step off Satanism back to God where we all come from, but also the prayers so many promised to pray for God’s grace for you, are a great step. For a prayer is not just to speak words into space, hoping that God hears us, but a prayer, especially a prayer including a certain request for someone one doesn’t know, is a highly serious and very strong step, approaching the Almighty God Himself. A much bigger step, than for instance appealing to a king or a president. Prayer is direct contact to God – a indeed overwhelming thing not too many can imagine and assess in it’s huge scope!
Lat me finally add: You’ll find it in the beginning hard to REALLY live in belief. Do pray: “I believe – help my disbelief”. You find this This sentence in
jmom.honlam.org/rsvce/
in Mk 9,24. It’s our and all Christians cry for help.
AND DO NOT LEAD US INTO TEMPTATION we pray. That’s our cry for help in respect of belief. To be delivered from tempts of doubts. Believers know that definitely no one ever saw God; – except THE SON Jesus Christ. Mt 11,27, John 6,46 and John 8,38. In Mark 5,36 we learn, that Jesus, ignoring what all others say, points out the importance of belief: “Do not fear, only believe.” Jesus said this so often to us; His „Take heart, it is I; have no fear.“ Yes, it is Him – it is God Himself who is with us under one single condition: TO BELIEVE. It’s only then, that we really are able to pray
Do not be afraid Jesus said, for I am with you – every day, ‘til the end of time. This is so, and you will feel it tangibly, the further you dive into belief – and remember; it’s so easy to believe, as the Pope keeps repeating. Let’s simply do it and trust in God. Our reward will be incredible and eternal.

Yours
Bruno

These are good questions. Maybe you should start your own thread, so there is a special discussion on them.
is it ethically and morally wrong for me to listen to rock and music and heavily metal music from singers and guitar players that are into the occult and/or some kinda of Satanism???

What if the song itself has OK lyrics, but the singers/musicians have bad and evil and immoral personal lives???

Welcome home Matt. 🙂 I am soooooooo happy for you!

I was into the occult for about 10 years, but not the satanic side of things, as in, I didn’t call on demons etc.

I am now a Catholic revert, and I still struggle at times. I find some days I feel kind of ‘drawn’ to things. I get something in my head and I check up something ‘witchy’ online or even a few months ago was occassionally still feeling the need to purchase little useless items like tiny cauldrons.

You have taken the hardest step already, now his arms are open and you have the support and love of God.

The Blessed Mother Mary has been my saving grace by answering my prayers and guiding me many time this past year. Call on her help, love and grace often, the devil detests her, say the Hail Mary and continue with your St.Michael prayer’s too.

Stay on the path you have been lead to Matt.

Blessings.:hug3:

Mjb,
In your RCIA classes, did they explain the power of our blessed Mother?
Mary is always sympathetic to our weakness and will always help us to break the bonds of anything that is keeping us from her Son.

There are three sacramental gifts that Mary offers us; Brown scapular, Miraculous Medal, Green scapular.

My own particular view is this. Mary would not give us her sacramental gifts if they were ineffective and if she didn’t want to help us. She really loves us that much to help in anyway her sons/daughters are in need and are hurting. She made certain promises of help and she would not have made them if she didn’t intend to keep them.

What person could help us more that the most powerful and loving saint in heaven?
What good mother would not do everything in her power to help her little one in need?

In the Brown Scapular, the person is clothed(investiture) with it, and when worn you are attached in some fashion to the carmelite order, and share in their good works and prayers. On your part, there are degrees of prayer that you will do daily. How much prayer is more or less left up to the person.

There is good, better, and best and left up to your decision without being obligated thru sin.
Once invested always invested. It is a spiritual way of life and a great one. And the nice part is, one can start small and gradually increase in this way of life.
This is a very good way to go because you have the support of not only Mary, but others as well.

The miraculous medal is blessed by a deacon, priest, and always worn. Mary made a simple promise, and this is what I like about it. She promised that --great-- and --abundant-- graces would be given to those that wear it. But she did require one thing – trust – that she would obtain these great and a boundant graces. I have worn this all my life and I can honestly say that I have been spoiled by her. My faith has been strong all my life. She has kept her word to me. I use this medal in all my trials, by holding it in my hand and at that point asking for the great grace she promised. I do not remember a time that this didn’t work. She told St. Catherine Labourae that she wanted everyone to have one. That means not just all catholics but everyone. It is so simple but so effective.

The Green scapular is blessed by a decon, priest, and can be worn or carried on the person in the wallet, purse, pocket, etc. The scapular carries these promises:
  1. Conversion of those who do not have the faith
  2. Reconciliation to the Church for those who have lost/strayed from the faith
  3. Assurance of a happy death
  4. Strengthening of the faith for those already in the Church
  5. Protection from Satan for those who wear or promote the scapular <<<=============
This scapular is used frequently for the conversion of someone, and also for protection from Satan.
It is given to the person to be converted to the faith or to a catholic to revive their faith. If they will not take the scapular it may be put in their room, chair, bed, etc. Then the giver prays this simple prayer for them everyday; “Immaculate Heart of Mary, pray for us now and at the hour of our death”, twice, once for themselves and once for the other person.

But it is also used for oneself for protection from the devil and for an increase of faith.
I have one of these as well in my wallet.

In the bible story of Jesus being tempted in the desert, notice that it was the devil doing the tempting all three times. He uses other things, and our own weaknesses, to tempt us, that is, the world and the flesh. As St Peter said, our fight is against principalities and powers.

Your fight is mainly against the devil using your weakness against you. This is what Mary has promised to do for those using her gift of the Green Scapular, namely, protection from the devil.
Her graces also will take you where you need to go, and show you what you must do. For the devil is the father of lies as Jesus said. He will try to mislead you and confuse you and discourage you. On the journey with her, she will dispell all of that and show you how.

Congratulations, and be at peace.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

Remember oh most gracious Virgin Mary that never was it known that anyone who fled to thy protection, implored thy help, or sought thine intercession was left unaided. Inspired with this confidence I fly unto thee oh Virgin of virgins, my Mother. To thee I come, before thee I stand, sinful and sorrowful. Oh Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions but in thy mercy hear and answer me. Amen.

Saint Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle, be our safeguard against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him we humbly pray and do thou oh Prince of the Heavenly Host, by the power of God, cast into Hell Satan and all the evil spirits who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.

Our Father who art in Heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. Amen.

I would strongly recommend to you that you pray the Rosary on a daily basis. I would also recommend that you get a properly blessed and exorcized Saint Benedict Medal and that you pray to your Guardian Angel and Saint Michael the Archangel as well as the Blessed Mother and especially our Lord frequently. Also, it would be wise to keep a supply of holy water on hand and bless your home with it frequently. Also bless yourself with the holy water.

Hi, Matt,

I just read your post and was quite encouraged by your experience. Worship due to God is only to be given to God - and giving this worship to a creature - and a diabolic one at that - is a serious error. What makes our experience with God so amazing is that He never gives up on us - even though we give up on Him and ourselves on a regular basis. The Grace of God to implore the intercession of St. Michael is a wonderful Grace - and, the Devil is clearly shown to be the cowardly foul wretch that he is.

Here is an interesting link on praying for St. Michael to defend us from the Devil: ourcatholicprayers.com/the-saint-michael-prayer.html

Yours is a courageous story - and one that I hope is read by many who are right now in the grip of Satan. All of this ‘power’ and material wealth you spoke of is truly just an illusion - but, that reality only becomes apparent at the Judgment. The nature of angels is such that it is very superior to human nature - and, the Devil enjoys deceiving us with his power. At death, however, those faithful and now damned souls find out about the real intent of their devilish master. He really has nothinb but contempt for humans - so as bad as hell is for the devils - they are perfectly free to unleash their hatred for humans!

On this, the Feast of the Immaculate Conception, let us all ask Our Blessed Mother to make a special intercession for all who have ever or are now engaged in Satanism. It is a terrible thing to make such a damned monsterous spirit the object of worship.

Best wishes on your up-coming marriage. This month, my wife and I will be celebrating our 42nd Anniversary. In an age when divorce is so common - and now being overtaken by simply co-habitation - marriage as a genuine and life-long commitment to the other may soon become an oddity. You and your future wife - with the Grace of God - can be your own success story that marriage as a symbol for Christ’s love for His Church is alive and well! 👍

God bless
Hello,

I’d like to ask for people’s prayers here. I converted to Roman Catholicism through the RCIA program this past April 7th on the Easter Vigil Mass. Prior to that, I was deeply involved in Satanism. I was a member of a group called “the Brotherhood”, and I had a teacher that I was learning from for several years. I was proficient in witchcraft, demonolatry (worshipping demons), and various forms of rituals. My apartment had altars to many different demons who I would pray to and offer incense and offerings on daily basis in return for money, sex, and different favors. (and yes, it works!)
One day, one of my rituals went wrong and the demons I worked with became unpleasant to be around. One of the demons on my altar would cause me to be sick to me stomach when I prayed to it.

Their presence was suffocating and I needed them gone. I purchased a St Michael candle and prayed the prayer on the back and asked Michael to send the demons away from my home. Almost instantly, the demonic presence disappeared. I then realized that God had more power that the demons which I worshipped and worked with as allies on a daily basis. After a few months, my girlfriend at the time (who is now engaged to me, and we are preparing for marriage!) talked with me about Satanism and about how God uses bad experiences in life to bring people to Him. I decided to throw out all my occult stuff and join the Catholic Church.
It’s a struggle, but I’m doing my best to live by Christ’s commandments and live as God wills me to. I have not exactly traveled the same road you have but I have been raised atheist and am now in the Catholic Church. There must be rejoicing in Heaven for you.

From my experience, it’s been an interesting, sometimes challenging and ultimately rewarding time so far.

Congratulations! You have been truly blessed to know the peace of companionship with Jesus. Keep drawing him near and inviting him into your life and you won’t ever want to go back. Spend time before the Blessed Sacrament - just be with him.

For temptation, I suggest praying the Rosary. I find it very powerful - especially the sorrowful mysteries. It’s pretty hard to rationalize submitting to a temptation when you are conscious of the sacrifices that Jesus and Mary made out of love for us. But be forewarned, I hear that the enemy HATES the Rosary. Also, I would suggest you consider some type of advice in discernment of spirits - like the teachings of St. Ignatius of Loyola. The enemy can be very subtle in his attacks sometimes, and you will need to be able to discern what messages are good and which are bad.

Hi, DAML72,

An excellent post! 👍

The discernment of spirits is hardly mentioned - and it is so very important. The Devil would never get anyone to join him at the flaming sulphur pit - if he were to show himself as he is! Here is a link that you may find helpful: catholictv.com/Catholic-Discernment-of-Spirits.aspx

God bless

I’m under pressure often to return to the occult, but I know this would be a grave sin and I dont want to go back. The power you gain from Satanism is highly addicting, but it doesnt compare to the peace that Jesus gives. I just wanted to share this testimony and ask that you pray for me that God would bless my life as I live for Him and for protection against my old companions, as I’m sure they are angry with me. I still find myself under constant attack from the enemy through temptation and nightmares.

Your Brother in Christ,

-Matt Brown
Praise the Lord, and Gory be to God in the Highest. This is wonderful testimony. While I was never a Satanist, I struggled with “New Agism” as I call it, and occult matters and issues of various kinds in various ways from the time I was a teen until my mid 40’s. I was led through everything from Scientology to Urantia Book, Carlos Castaneda, Lobsang Rampa, all the psychics, automatic writers, mediums, gurus etc. etc. Just a warning, especially while you feel vulnerable. The most prevalent form of the liar is not through direct Satanism (LaVey, by the way?), but he is insinuating himself in much more easily swallowed glamours. Through people who even claim belief in Jesus, or even call themselves Christians, but are actually “new age” occultists. Pagans, Wiccans, and just those who claim “my own way of knowing Christ”.

I am so thrilled to hear you are in RCIA. Praying with the intercession of St. Michael is great devotion. If you’re comfortable with Our Lady, this is also very useful. Be careful to approach the Saints without the occult or superstition either. Make no mistake. It is the through Jesus Christ alone that man has his salvation. It is God alone that we worship. We don’t worship angels or saints, but only ask them for intercession, just as you’ve asked us to pray for you. There is no magic, but there are miracles.

Besides the St. Michael Prayer, the Anime Christi has been very helpful for me. It can be found here, along with many other useful prayers for your situation.
