I’m also on Christian forums and Orthodox forums so some here may know me. I was born to a muslim family in the heart of Islam if you can guess where that is, I never liked Islam and I found myself hating it the more I read about it. I became a pagan after that and started to worship idols and practice magic. I always ever since I was a child had an interest in Christianity so I started to distance myself away from polytheism but I felt scared because I used to think I was invincible when I worshipped pagan gods and I thought if I left their worship I would lose it all. But I couldn’t help but stare at the face of this person my whole life and wonder how could he die for me until one day I really saw him. I asked if he had power or my gods did and I said to myself the one who would appear I would worship and then I saw him standing far away was a man draped in light I could see curly hair on him and a beard of average length but light was covering his face his hands were outstretched as if he was waiting for me but before I got to him my dream ended I woke up and I said you are my God and my Lord Jesus king of kings. So here I am, I consider myself an Antiochian Orthodox although I haven’t been officially baptized by the Church itself because I agree with its teachings I’m part Lebanese and I’m planning on moving to Lebanon one day.

I live in a country with no churches and I still can’t leave it,

You know, Lebanon’s actually a great country as far as religious freedom is concerned. I hope you get there one day. I don’t know what country you live in, but I’m sorry you can’t go to church. Within 35 km of me, I can go to hundreds of Baptist Churches, a mosque, a Buddhist temple, about four or five different Catholic churches, two Greek Orthodox Churches, a Syriac Orthodox Church, a Coptic Orthodox Church. People where I live, we don’t know what it’s like not to be near some kind of church. I hope you do get baptized.

I hope so aswell. While I’m here I’m looking to get some insight on Catholic beliefs.

Eventually, you may be able to find a priest if you ask for him at one of the embassies. He’ll baptize you in secret.

Welcome to CAF!

From my observation on CF’s Orthodox forum, you live in a country that does not allow the practice of Christianity and in a region of the world where being matyred is sadly common. To believe in Jesus takes deep faith and much courage. My prayer is for you to find a way to Lebanon where you can be baptized and practice your faith openly.

Look around our forum and ask your questions!

Just be careful not to get caught! And make sure you don’t get into trouble over your internet activities.

Yes it is sadly common now in he Middle East. But I’m going to move to Lebanon hopefully soon which has large Christian community that rivals the Muslims which also provides peace and tolerance to the land.

You don’t need a priest or a church for baptism. In certain situations, a layman mandated by a bishop can administer the baptism. This used to be the case in remote areas of the world at times and places when no priest was available.

Simply Pray, and don’t worry to much. Things will be alright!..

“But thou when thou shalt pray, enter into thy chamber, and having shut the door, pray to thy Father in secret: and thy Father who seeth in secret will repay thee.”

You can do this! :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

Hello! I am glad you are interested in Christianity and Catholicism.
The Catholic Church is the Church established by Christ. We believe the pope has authority as the seat of Peter, who was given authority and called the rock by our Lord Jesus Christ.
You can ask on the forums or look around on Catholic answers website if you have questions concerning the Catholic Faith.

Am praying for you on your faith journey.

I don’t exactly believe in Catholicism although I like the Maronite Church because preserved the Aramaic language in general I do not believe Christ needs a vicar here in Earth which is the title the Pope claims as Jesus said I will be with you until the end so God needs no representative on Earth. I consider myself an Antiochian Orthodox and I personally believe that it was the Church founded by the Apostles as even the Popes followed the Eastern tradition before they elected Charlemagne as Emperor of the Holy Roman Empire.
