Thankyou for sharing the youtube link. I cried too when I watched it live this morning 8.15am our time here in the UK. I have just cried again watching once more.

Our Pope Francis is so Christ like, he makes me feel he is so close to God ā€¦truly inspirational.
 
I got teary eyed watching that this morning also. Praise be to God for our Pope Francis.

Thank you for the link! I was hoping someone would find the clip and put it up. As the mom of a son with a developmental disability who works for and with the the disabled community, this is an answer to prayer. The disabled live a form of poverty regardless of their monetary means.

And yes, despite my work and life with the disabled, Iā€™m still crying like a baby here.

I was so moved when I saw Pope Francis climb down and kiss this disabled man. Youā€™re right the disabled live a life with poverty Iā€™m so glad your son and the disabled community you work for have you, to make a difference. I have spina bifida myelomeningocele I believe Pope Francis will be a great Pope, his great love for the most vulnerable in society is truly a God send.

I have been one of those who has been ā€œcautiousā€ about trusting the new Pope right off, and a little worried about the Traditional Mass etc.

But I have to admit that this is now the second time in less than a week of this Papacy that he has made me start to tear up because of his obvious compassion (the other being the photo of him kissing the foot of the young AIDS patient).

While we have yet to see how he will govern as Pope, he is certainly a very holy man.

I can only second that. I had my doubts, too, and only time will tell if heā€™s that kind of leader that can rid the temple of the usurers, so to speak, but his acts of charity clearly show him to be a man of great holiness. It always pains me very much when the disabled are marginalized, mocked or even worse. Christ is in these human beings and wishes for us to show him our love; any sin against them is an immense injury against our Holy Saviour!
