Okay so… when i was 13 i think i got curious about things like magic, ghosts, spirits and such. And it was not because i was a harry potter fan actually i didnt become anywhere near a potter fan until i was 14 (my mom saw the movies and we read bishops reveiws and decided they were okay for me to watch and read the books) Anyway so i looked for a site online about magic spells and for at least 8 months i went on that site everyday for hours. my parents never found out. I met lots of people… all seemed to be nice except for the creepy ones… I tried many spells the only one of which i THINK worked was a spell for snow… and thats the first time it snowed a foot where i live (at least while ive been living here) Anyway yes i know my parents had drilled it to me that magic is bad but i got so curious… Also because in our basement there used to be well… something. It was a shadow… I saw it once upstairs, like the shadow of a young girl with a knee length skirt and shoulder length hair. I remember when i saw this shadow it ran away from me… After going on that magic site people told me this “thing” might be connected to something in my house. all i could think of was the dinning set we had bought from a man whos girl friend had had drinking problems, and i think she died… im not sure… anyway there was a wine stain inside the china cabinet that we could never get rid of. Then my mom gave the dining set to my sister and i told my sister about the magic site.

she was freaked out of course and told me not to go on there anymore but i did… anyway after she took that dinning set away we have never seen that shadow again.
Anyways… going on that magic site took a toll on my faith and for some months i started to believe there was no god But then i realised thats impossible. Then came a time where i didnt know wat was true! All religions say “WE are the true religion!!” I didnt and still am not sure which religion to believe in. Catholic? Christian? Baptist? Mormon? Wicca? Ive ruled out wicca of course… and i think im sort of back on track with being catholic but i still have many doubts 😦

On that magic site i actually met a boy… from england. (dont worry i saw him on webcam and i know hes not some freak) Anyway we talked everyday and he was like me just curious and he quit that site way before i did. He was christian actually. anyway we became best friends and after a while i even liked him and well idk if you can say fell in love with him and him with me. Then we just stopped talking… Now hes 16 (we met online when he was 14 and i was 13) He ignores my messages, and deletes whatever i post on his facebook wall  maybe thats better anyway…

just wanted to tell you guys a bit about myself and dont worry i quit that site after reading about exorcisims and the horror stories of quija boards (i never used one but i did try one online… didnt do anything) I got rid of anything i had that had to do with magic (papers with spells on them, the wand i had made…)

Welcome to CAF and welcome back to the Catholic Church. May God bless you.

We’re glad you’re here, but you need a confessor. Lobby your mom to get you to confession regularly, to the same priest each time if at all possible. If she is as pious as you say, she will have a hard time refusing your request, provided you are respectful.

I’m not saying this because your experience with magic is terrible. I’m saying this because you need some outside help with regards to forming your conscience. If you don’t, I fear that you are either going to become scrupulous (fearing things are sinful when they are not) or spritually careless (not avoiding things that are occasions of sin because you don’t know better), or both.

We don’t want that. A good priest will be a guide for you that you will be thankful for and that your parents can be at peace with. At any rate, it is worth trying.

I echo this 1000%.
