I Desperately Need a Job!

I’ve begun the Novena to the Sacred Heart by Padre Pio in preparation for the feast of my favorite devotion on June 19th. I really and truly need a job because money is desperate. I have been without health insurance for 2-3 years, and I am scared that something is going to happen to me and I won’t be able to pay for health care. Also, I’m tired of “borrowing” money from my grandmother, even though she doesn’t expect me to pay it back. I feel like I’m living off my family, and even though I am 25, I’m still living with my parents. It hurts knowing that I could be working right now, but because of mistakes of my past, I have burned many bridges.

In November 2008, I graduated from Nursing Assistant school, and so my main priority is finding a job as a CNA. Things are so desperate right now, that I’m thinking about finding a job at McDonald’s or somewhere just to get a reference and make some money. I’m looking at volunteer positions as well in medical clinics to find a better reference for CNA jobs.

I’m going out today to apply to more nursing homes and home healthcare facilities. Please pray to the Sacred Heart (and Padre Pio!) that I can find a job! I want to live more self-sufficient. God bless!

Well, as a preemptive measure, I applied at a local McDonald’s online. I figured it would not hurt my chances of gaining employment elsewhere, it would only help. I still fully intend to do volunteer work at a nearby hospital or nursing home on my days off. If God wills me to work here, I will accept the job, even though it’s not my first choice. I have to do something! 😃

I might note, however, that CNAs are in desperately short supply in some places, including here. I don’t know where you live, and I know moving isn’t easy. But you might check outside your area.

Unfortunately, I really don’t think that’s a good idea. I haven’t worked in a while and I need to ease myself back into the transition. I tried moving out once in the past month, and I had to return home because I wasn’t ready for it all.
 
I was a CNA too. It’s a very tough, but rewarding job. Your reward is in the smiles of your patients and in knowing when you care for them you care for Jesus Himself. 🙂
