I DID NOT participate in Communion at Wife's Non-Denom Church and she was FURIOUS!

I believe that a lot of people just don’t understand the orthodox Catholic doctrine on the Real Presence and our doctrines concerning the Blessed Sacrament. As most protestants that do a “Lord’s Supper” type of thing, they think that Catholic Communion is about the same thing as far as meaning. Thus, when someone wants to participate in our Communion that is not Catholic or when one of us visits a protestant church and doesn’t participate-they get offended.

However, participation in schismatical communion services are a no-no and the participation of schismatics or heretics in our Communion is a no-no. Granted, most of you who did didn’t realize that taking part in protestant communion was wrong, but I would reccommend not regularly taking any part in protestant services.

It is good to know that there are people out there who take their Catholic faith seriously when it comes to communion
 
Terrific job to stand up for what you believe in. I always understood affirmation of faith and sacrifices of faith are training exercises for the soul. Be strong so when you receive at Mass, so much more receptive you will be =).
