I just joined this forum and found this wonderful thread. I am hoping this will encourage me to do more things I’m proud of.

I didn’t really do anything special today, but tomorrow, I am going to my son’s and daughter-in-law’s to petsit for a week. Each year, during the week of my birthday, they go to their time share vacation. It’s hard to be out of my own quarters for a week, especially taking care of two big dogs because I then have to get my friend to take care of my adorable cat. However, I know how much they love taking a vacation and not having to worry about their furpeople. So, I always feel proud:extrahappy: of myself at the end of the week (there might be some grumblings :crying: during the week, but never to them!)

Actually it was yesterday…our family responded to a family evicted and we moved their belongings to a temporary storage facility until they can regroup & plan what to do next. I am physically & mentally exhausted from this whole event, but I am proud that my family reacted in the only way a Christian can.

No one has done anything they are proud of???!!!???

Today I put my family first even though I am way behind at work. We just got back from vacation and instead of going right back to work I did the unpacking, the laundry and made a homemade dinner.

I have to say, I feel pretty darn good about myself!

grandkids have agreed to tell grandpa I went rock-climbing with them today. it is the truth, we walked through a garden site (Stan Hywet in Akron) where the path through the Japanese Garden is made of rocks, probably bluestone, up and down, I did okay, although my knees will be feeling it tonight. beautiful gardens, beautiful day, lots of butterflies, and a dozen tree houses of different designs for the kids to climb on. plus they have a farmers market there every thursday.

Today, I told my wife I love her forever.

(I tell her that every day, but I did today also.)

Haven’t told my kids yet, they were still sleeping when I left home this morning.
