There’s plenty of anti-Catholic stuff around.

Sorry, but we do not consider the Mother of God a suitable topic for a “good laugh”.Haha thank you for the great comments but yes this was a satirical post! I hope you all got a good laugh!

Good point. At least he admitted he was being satirical–I’ve seen plenty of people just drop by to be rude and condescending and slink off into the shadows when other posters call them on their nonsense.I wonder if the ‘16’ in the OP’s name indicates his age. . .But seriously, while this might not be the way I would choose to investigate Catholicism, it might be a start for this young man. And he did come back to clarify this as satirical, he didn’t just do a drive by --so I hope since he recognizes that the whole idea of the Pope doing such a thing about the Blessed Mother is pretty much unbelievable, that he might indeed go on to look deeper into the Catholic Faith. We have so much to offer, and part of that is joy, and laughter (the helpful, healing, convivial kind), and above all, love.
I doubt that this is true. There are a lot of misunderstandings of who Mary is, and what is meant when we say that Mary is the Mother of God. According to the MIGM (Mary is God Movement):IS POPE FRANCIS PREPARING TO DECLARE THE ‘VIRGIN’ MARY TO BE 4TH PART OF THE TRINITY?l]
I think phil might have been referring to the Church one day declaring Mary Co-Redemptrix, Mediatrix and Advocate. Here’s some reading material on this…What is there to define regarding the Blessed Virgin Mary that has not already been said?
I don’t understand what you are saying.
I will ask my question again…see above. What is there to define regarding the Blessed Virgin Mary that has not already been said?
I don’t understand what you are saying.
Consider the source. I would not place ANY stock in a website titled, “Now the End Begins dot com”!IS POPE FRANCIS PREPARING TO DECLARE THE ‘VIRGIN’ MARY TO BE 4TH PART OF THE TRINITY?
It obviously wouldn’t be the trinity anymore because of tri=3 but if this is true Catholicism is wrong… I’m so confused!

There are 5 Marian Doctrines. But only 4 have been Dogmatically defined. All 5 doctrines exist and always have. What is there to define regarding the Blessed Virgin Mary that has not already been said?
I don’t understand what you are saying.
Notice the inconsistency in the blog:IS POPE FRANCIS PREPARING TO DECLARE THE ‘VIRGIN’ MARY TO BE 4TH PART OF THE TRINITY?

Notice the inconsistency in the blog:
Pope Francis said:
“And this is our hope. We are not orphans, we have Mothers: Mother Mary. But the Church is Mother and the Mother Church is anointed when it takes the same path of Jesus and Mary: the path of obedience, the path of suffering, and when she has that attitude of continually learning the path of the Lord. These two women – Mary and the Church – carry on the hope that is Christ, they give us Christ, they bring forth Christ in us. Without Mary, there would be no Jesus Christ; without the Church, we cannot go forward“.
Catch that? The Pope said that Christ is the hope, and Mary and the Church “give” us Christ and bring Christ forth in us. IOW, they encourage us to be devoted followers of Christ our Hope.
The blogger said:
Jesus has been demoted to third place behind ‘mother’ Mary and the ‘Holy Mother Church’, the Roman Catholic Church. The bible says, however that the “blessed hope” of the Christian is “the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ.”
See? The blogger agrees that the “Hope” of Christians if Jesus.
What the Pope has said is orthodox; the blogger just can’t see it because of anti-Catholic prejudice.
My advice? Stay away from bad websites. :yup:
Im really sorry! It was actually a true question but everyone was talking about how ignorant I was so I tried to play it off… Im sorrySorry, but we do not consider the Mother of God a suitable topic for a “good laugh”.
Yes and once they’re done with the BS they can start with a MS (more S) and then they could go on to the Ph.D (piled higher, deeper). Not to worry, Jacob!
You know, some people are well educated and they have a B.S. degree. Others are less well educated, but they too have a B.S. degree. It’s often quite high I might add.![]()
It wasn’t that long ago that I was also a Baptist looking from the outside in at the wonders of the Catholic Church. Best wishes on your continued journey. It really is as good as it looks, this Catholicism thing.IS POPE FRANCIS PREPARING TO DECLARE THE ‘VIRGIN’ MARY TO BE 4TH PART OF THE TRINITY?

Yep. In another thread the OP says he is 16. When I was 16 I had LOTS to learn!I wonder if the ‘16’ in the OP’s name indicates his age. . .But seriously, while this might not be the way I would choose to investigate Catholicism, it might be a start for this young man. No worries. Most of the criticism was against the website you linked to, not you. The site is pretty bad. I just read one of the other pages there. In that one, they took a Biblical title for Jesus (“Morning Star”, Revelation 22:16) from a Catholic prayer, and twisted it to imply that we worship the devil. The site is very dishonest.Im really sorry! It was actually a true question but everyone was talking about how ignorant I was so I tried to play it off… Im sorry![]()
