I do not expect anyone from the Byzantine Catholic Church to understand

Have you ever felt called to something, that isn’t necessarily the priesthood? I grew up Byzantine Catholic and now live in an area where there aren’t any Byzantine Catholics. (In case you never heard, we exists and our priest are allowed to have families.)

This might sound crazy, but I feel more at home in the Roman Catholic Church. The Orthodox are not welcoming at all, even though some Byzantine Catholic’s claim (falsely) that we are more like them. I do want to get married and have kids someday. Sometimes I feel that I am called to have a family and serve God at the same time.

I love listening to church hymns that we never sing in the Byzantine Catholic Church. They are super inspiring and enriching to my life. Lectio Divina is also inspiring. Some people, even Roman Catholics, have negatively bad mouthed Lectio Devina. How and why can they take offense to something that is their own?

I also have a deep interest in social psychology and have thought about getting a PhD in it from a Catholic University. The only problem is that i haven’t found a Catholic University that offers one.

What should I do? I don’t live a life that is worthy of carrying the cross, but I have carried the cross at the last 2 masses that I have attended (carried it out).
