I do not believe in the Trinity. It does not make sense. God is one, but three? I believe Jesus is the son of God and died for our sins. And he is in heaven and will come again at the Last Judgement. I believe the Holy Spirit is God’s power. Maria thinks I’m the mother of Jesus. And she deserves all respect. She even says in the bible that we should praise her blessed. But that does not mean we should pray to her. Maria is also in heaven but was not in heaven with the body, just the soul. I think saints are spersielle people but not that one can ask of them.

Peace.

believe that on the Day of Judgment will a new earth been made. Then all in the heavem come down. I think no one is going to hell. Everyone is going to Heaven, for God is love.

Peace.
Welcome to CAF. Do you have a question? Are you asking for the Catholic understanding of the doctrine of the Trinity? Do you wish to discuss the assumption of Mary into heaven? In other words, for what reason did you start this thread? 🤷

To show you that I respect Maria. And that I dont understand the Trinity.

The trinity isn’t so vague a thing to simply be “Three in one,” that sort of definition actually distorts the trinity and makes it hard for people to understand what has been essentially defined for 1600 or so years. Rather what the trinity actually tells us who God is.That God consists of three persons existing in the same essence and or substance.

Well, those are two different subjects altogether. On a forum such as this it works a lot better to stay with one subject within a thread. Which one would you like to discuss?

How can you say God is one if God is show himself in 3 persons at the same time? A Trinity God is so far away from God in the old Testament. At the beginning in the old teastament God say “let us”, but that is the angels, not God i Three persons

Uhh, did you just say that your Jesus’ mother Caylee? I doubt that is what you mean but it sure looks that way. Just had to add in some jest :p.

And the Trinity is one of those things that you can’t really understand, it’s above our comprehension. You’d expect that, God is above us so you’d expect there to be things about him that are seemingly illogical and impossible to be grappled with by the human intellect. There are other things about God that are the same way, like His eternalness. How can something not have a starting point or an ending point? In faith there’s always going to be some mystery. Otherwise, who would we be putting our trust in? God or our own intellect?

Both of them

Number 1: Why do you maria for prayer? Should not let the Death People get peace?

Number 2: In the Old Testament, God is very clear that he is one person, so why was he suddenly 3?

It would only be a contradiction if I were saying that God was three persons and yet one person at the same time but that is not what I’m saying. Rather what Christians have always professed is that they are one the same substance. The son is his unique identity and is not the father but both share the same substance or essence, that by substance I mean that which they are composed of, for a lack of a better term divinity. That there is one substance of divinity which the three members of the trinity are.

:o:o:o

Whoops … I wrote proven wrong

I understand the Trinity in a way, and understands the argument that one can not understand God. But God in the Old Testament is very clear that he is one. And he even speaks. How can a person speak if it is three persons?

So you are saying that Jesus is not God? But just divine?

According to who? Who told you that it was the angels? We were not made in the image and likeness of angels, but rather the image and likeness of God. To believe what you say is true we must believe that God and angels are one and the same.

I myself believe it. I interpret it that way. God created the angels before He created man, therefore I believe the angels is to create “let us”. I know that the angels are not God, but they are like him. and we are like God.

No what, I’m saying that which the father is composed of is the exact same thing the son is composed of. That single, simple, uncomprehensible divinity of the father is that of Christ’s.

Do you believe that your interpretation is infallible, or is it possible that you could be wrong?

But it was “Let us create…” Were the Angels creators as well as created?

What about the references to the Spirit of the Lord coming down throughout the OT? Was that God in his fullness?

Yes there were. They helped God. They do God’s will. And God’s will was that they would help him to create. The Holy Spirit is God’s power.

In Genesis God says, “Let us make man in our own image.” If it was the angels then that would mean we are also made in the image of the angels. This would have to mean that angels are equal to God, so then there wouldn’t be one God there would be many gods. So how can it be the angels?

I don’t believe the Genesis passage automatically proves the Trinity, I lean more towards an interpretation that God was using a royal we, but at the same time was giving us hints about his nature.

And the Old Testament doesn’t disprove the Trinity, it just says God is one, it doesn’t speak one way or another about the Trinity. God is one, we just know by revelation, that God’s oneness is a bit more complex than we might have once thought. Personally I like it that way, imo a God that ‘makes perfect sense’ is a not the true God, but a concoction by the human mind.

We are the image of angels too, since angels are in the image of God
