I don't get it...if you are a non-Catholic Christian, then why aren't you a Catholic Christian?

Most folks do not know much about the beliefs of what other churches teach. yet they are ready to jump into the fray and relate what they ‘think’ others believe.
Cathoilcs are no exception. They do not know what others teach either.
That is the way of man. I also think that is why the Lord allowed so many different ways to honor and love Him. God looks on the heart of us all. The Lord alone gives us His Spirit to guide us.
We can disagree on certian points, as this will go on forever I’m sure. Do this with love.
We all worship the same God and Savior.

God bless you,
bluelake
Amen dear brother. And some don’twant to know.

Know what? That some require tongues, others preach once saved always saved, some deny infant baptism, some believe in birth control, or abortion, some deny the authority of the Church as expressed in scriptures, some are fine with divorce, some don’t think you should have to go to Church every Sunday, etc. etc. etc. The list of differences is larger than some are letting on, in my opinion.

The differences have become a ‘mall’ of Churches, where new believers can pick a Church with teachings that fit their own lifestyle, instead of trying to fit their lifestyle to His will. That’s sad.

I’m going to offer you Prodigal Son a warm and fuzzy hug 😛
You’re doing great at explaining the faith and like all “good Catholics” you continue to search and learn what Jesus asked us to do.

PS: I have a special affinity to “The Prodigal Son” as my signature depicts 🙂

See, there you go ‘assuming’ yourself. I feel the presence of Jesus, AT EVERY MASS. I know that was a ‘tweetymom’ jab at a Catholic.

Just as we’re to discern, we have to use our brains. That’s what ‘free will’ is about, that’s the distinction between man and animals.

In my opinion, someone who takes every opportunity to besmirch the Catholic Church, is spreading dissension…and Paul told us to take note.
A+ for reading into my post, what you want to believe:p I never sais that I justify dissension, just pointing out that it exists(even among caholics). You choose to deny it, and throw scriptures at us to intimidate us:eek: Disagreement is a part of dissension; in case you didn’t know. Do you and your wife always agree on everything? Does the cardinal always make the right choices, regarding his diocese? Did they really just reassign the priests, who were guilty of molestation? We disagree, okay? I do not hate anyone(1John 4:20), it is contrary to who God is in me! And I feel the presence of Christ anywhere I am,hallelujah! And I was just trying to get clarification on what exactly transsubstantiation was; the dictionary says this: Roman catholic church; a BELIEF that during the eucharist, the bread and wine become the Body and Blood of Christ. Then you go ballistic, and accuse me of trashing the cc. Jeezzzzzzzz!

If the presentation of scriptures is intimidating you, you need to consider what you’re ‘preaching’ on these forums. The intimidation is quite clear by your choice of ‘bombarding’ with a ‘pack’ of questions, even to go so low as to look at pedophiles. Whether you realize it or not, pedophiles are not restricted to Catholicism. When scriptures are presented, why not discuss them, instead of diverting by asking a lot of questions that have absolutely nothing to do with where our conversation was?

Again, you choose to look at PEOPLE and their disagreements, and for what purpose, if not to justify the entire Protestant movement?

Your ‘bashing’ questions of the Catholic Church are crystal clear, in my opinion.

EDITED TO ADD: BTW, you realize the post you quoted was not directed at you, don’t you? It was directed at another poster, that I specifically quoted when I posted it.

Once again, look at the thread topic.
Yes, I know the topic of the thread. I was trying to point out that some are choosing to look at the actions of people to make theological decisions, and not those things written in scriptures.

Amazing how some people do that:hmmm:

And you criticized his defending Protestantism on a thread that asks Protestants to defend themselves.

And “people” wrote the scripture, assembled the churches, and run the religions all over the planet through its history. It seems perfectly reasonable AND theological to evaluate a religion by the actions of its adherents.

I don’t criticize, I correct misconceptions and, what appears to be incorrect interpretations. If standing up for Cathoilcism is taken as criticism, then I apologize, but will continue to stand up for what I believe to be the one true Church.

People shouldn’t be looking at people. People should look to God and His promises. He can save, people cannot.

Then why are you here?

No one is suggesting that humans replace God. To suggest that humans don’t matter in the quest for truth and fulfillment is an odd form of extremism. And even in Catholicism human actions have a very important role. As they do also in the teachings of Jesus. Jesus did not say, “Only read.” I dare say that he cared much more for the illiterates than for the educated religious folks of his day.

I am here to correct misconceptions about Catholicism, correct misinterpretations due to not reading in context and to learn all aspects of Catholicism.

To look at people is not looking to God’s promises. It’s that simple.

Catholics realize Jesus did not depend on reading alone. Thanks for pointing that out.

Only a thought. Did you ever think that you may not always be right.? The Holy Spirit is the leader in our lives. to help us understand, not just the CC.

If not then peace for ya brother. And may you always know that Jesus is on your side, just like the rest of us who have Jesus as our Savior.

As per scriptures, the Holy Spirit is with the pillar and ground of truth, which is the Church of the living God.

Right in the hearts and souls of all believers in Christ Praise God.
Yes, we receive Him from the Church He established and sent the Holy Spirit to be with until the consumation of the world.

Yep from the church of ALL believers
You have free will and seem bent on reading scriptures to fit your theology, and without explaining the interpretation to us. I no longer want to be accused of seeming angry in my corrections of misinterpretations, as I see them, and will no longer let you antagonize me tweety. Keep seeking Him, I intend on doing the same.

They are not my interprtations they are for everyone. Sorry not trying to antagonlze you just stating my beliefs as you do. No different except we do not agree. You do not give your interperation, only post scripture and what someone tells you what it means. But it does not mean the same to others. God Bless you as you continue in your efforts. I do not get angry when you correct me or others. Doing no different than you, just giving mybeliefs like you. You say you have the truth and I know i have the truth, as others do. Why can’t we all just respect each other. You act like you are the only one right and critize everyone who does not agree with you or the CC. I respect your right to believe the CC is right. Why can’t you respect others?
