How is it at all Christian or Christ-like to say that it’s perfectly acceptable to murder innocent babies?
Just because he’s responding in a so-called “Christ-like” way in response to hate mail and such does not negate the fact that he is ignoring Jesus’ other teachings. Jesus instructed us to keep the commandments, and that includes “Thou shalt not murder.”

sorry, just jumped into this thread so i haven’t read all the responses yet, but i had to address this one.
that is not what the verses that you are quoting mean. the first one is dealing with exacting punishment on some one (let he who has never sinned cast the first stone). Jesus is saying that we, as humans, do not have the high ground to be able to punish others. we leave that punishment to God. it does not mean we cannot condemn actions, we just must remember that it is God’s place to punish.
the next verse you quote (do not judge unless you wish to be judged yourself) must be your paraphrase of the verse. the Bible is pretty clear that we will all be judged, so by not judging others doesn’t keep us from God’s judgement. also, the point of the verse is that by whatever standard you judge others is the standard you will be judged by. so, if i am condemning the murder of babies but am killing them myself, i will be judged very severely. however, if i am not killing babies, i am able to condemn those actions by others.
again, i cannot exact punishment on those people (i can withdraw support which could feel like punishment but i cannot bomb an abortion clinic) but i am given permission from Jesus to judge a tree by its fruits. if the fruit is murder, i can judge that the tree is evil.
i’d suggest not throwing around quotes from the Bible that you don’t understand.

absolutely fantastic use of scripture. as many times as i’ve read that passage, i have never thought of abortion. wow, great observation. i am sure others have used it (unless you are the visionary… and then more kudos), i have just never heard it before.

On the most recent Pro-Life themed Catholic Answers Live show (the one with Francis Beckwith), a caller brought up the fact that if one does not believe that life begins at conception, one must deny the dogma of the Incarnation of Jesus in Mary’s womb as well, since the Bible makes it pretty clear that Jesus existed as a human from the moment he was conceived by the Holy Spirit. I’d never thought of that before.

of course he’s forgetting where Jesus talks about laying your life down for others and to truly live, you must die to yourself. he forgets to counsel those looking to the church for answers to abortion that the highest command Jesus gives us to give up our own desires for those of others…especially parents for their children. so, i’d say he’s halfway in the light. he should come all the way in!
