I don't like college and need help: what should I do?

I was a teacher at a university and my children could go there free. But several of my sons blew it and didn’t last one semesters. Later they greatly regretted that they lost their opportunity for a college education. When they decided they wanted one it was too late. They could only get free college if they were my dependents.

Also, I have a question:
As I am still studying online, and don’t intend to stop it, in your opinion, if I study the major subjects along the subjects I love more, will this hurt me? Due to original sin, I have tendencies to revolt, and studying the subjects I love more might triggle sadness and wrath because I am enrolled in a course which has nothing to do. Plus, I need to do something I like daily in order to endure living this pandemic.

Your idea seems to be to continue studying, and that since you are studying online you have the time to tale more courses, and would therefore like to add some courses you would enjoy.

If you maintain your grades, I think it would be an excellent idea. I think then you would have something to look forward to as you slog through the courses that you don’t like as much 🙂

In Catholicism we have the idea of feasting and fasting, of times of celebration and times of preparation.

We understand that we can’t have feasting without fasting, and we can’t have fasting if we never feast.

Everyone needs something to look forward to; we can’t spend all our time doing what we don’t want to do. It’s bad for us.

And God wants us to take joy in our lives! Even when parts of it are hard, He still wants us to find joy. If you spend all your time doing what you don’t want because you think that will please God, then you are not doing what God wants and you are hurting yourself.

So, take the courses you enjoy, and give thanks to God each time you turn to them.

And try giving thanks to God for the courses you don’t like as well, and then you might recover your previous enjoyment of math 🙂
