I hate to say pray that Ike goes somewhere else, so I will say pray that our baby stays safe in the womb until the danger from Ike has passed. We live in the middle of the latest cone of uncertainity and while I’m far enough from the coast I don’t really worry about the storm, My wife was told last Friday that the baby could come any day. The due date is not until the 19th, so I’m hoping that we don’t go into labor during the storm because I don’t want to have to travel to the hospital during the storm. Anyway, there is my thoughts.

Prayers for your family, and all those again in the sights of this storm. :crossrc:

Now I’mstarting to get worried. People have started telling me that Hurricanes cause many moms to go into labor. Does know if this is true or just an urban myth?

I am afraid that there could be a correlation. My son was born earlier, at the beginning of a snow storm. I have post-surgical pain (after 18 years) when a storm approaches. The human body is sensitive to barometric changes. Have faith, babies born during bad weather are stronger than bulls (maybe another urban myth).

Well it appears that my wife is having contractions about an 1 hour apart right now, so the doctor is wanting her to come into the hospital this evening even if the contractions don’t get closer. He will give pitosen to help speed things along at that point with the goal of having the baby before the storm hits. Pray for us.

We just went through Gustav, so I understand your worries…I’ll be praying that things go smoothly with the little one’s arrival! :gopray2:

I was thinking about you earlier when i got news that my nephew was born today at 9 am. He was born in houston on the north side of town. He will be in this world less than 48 hours and will have to ride out his first hurricane. I will pray for your family!

We are at the hospital and they actually have internet access so I can give some updates. We are definately in labor, but still early stages. Naturally, he would probably arrive Friday afternoon, but the doctor wants to start pitosen at 9pm tonight.

Well her water has broke, and she has an epidural. Contractions are 3-5 minutes apart. The baby is racing the storm to be born. Who will come first? That is the question. I have my money on my baby.

😊

Praying for you all…

The reason I am blushing, is I came to this thread thinking you were talking about the poster 1ke!:o

There is a reason for my name here. Doh!

But, I will pray.

I didn’t think about before, but I wonder if there is a ticker for labor. 🙂

And for all of those that think I’m bad, my wife is sleeping with the epidural right now, so there isn’t anything for me to do.

Oh! How wonderful. Please know I am praying for your family, and YES there are things you can do NOW.

Sleep.😉

You need to be wide awake to get your energy for the big day!

I am so happy for you both!

Please sleep while you can, because…

(Is this your first?)

Nope this is the fourth but I’m still excited and can’t wait to hold my little baby.

With the nurse keeps coming in and turning on the light. I can’t stay asleep.

Awww. I must stop viewing this thread, as its making me want another baby right now!

Please update us when and if you are able.

I can’t wait to hear about this baby! It’s so covered in love already.

🙂

I am sorry you can’t sleep now. I will say a psalm for you all before I go to sleep. Good night proud pappa.

The doctor just came and everything is progressing smoothly. I got about an hour of sleep before that. Hopefully, I can get back to sleep. I must say that being able to have a place to write about this is very helpful and stress relieving.
