"I don't need baptism"

It sounds like there are two major victories on her account. First, that she wants baptism and second that she is willing to learn about Catholicism.

Oh yes! I’ve been having a lot of fun explaining the Saints to her, explaining confession, explaining the priesthood, etc. These are things she always took issue with but never had an outlet for information (she’s very cautious about even studying these things because she doesn’t trust her own interpretation of written word even). My dear, dear friend is an example why the gospel must be spoken and not just written down and handed out. 🙂

It sounds as though you are doing a fine job of trying to gently nudge her towards Catholicism. I congratulate you on your efforts. Keep up the good work Nicky. She is right to be cautious of interpretations of anything concerning the Bible… I too am not able to trust that I have the correct interpretation at times with passages. This is ok, as long as you can break things down into information she can understand, she will be ok. I am hoping for a conversion for my sister in law to join the church. If it wouldn’t be too much trouble could you pray for her conversion?
