You wanna know something? My (now) former parochial vicar got in some pretty serious trouble. He was not arrested (what he did was immoral, but not illegal), and apparently he had had an inappropriate relationship in his previous diocese. You want to know something? It has only STRENGTHENED my faith, because, as Fr.Dwight Longenecker put it, this is a purification for the Church. I have MET living Saints (I was at one’s funeral not too long ago), who dedicate their entire lives to the Church. And you’re complaining because you don’t “feel” a certain way? Stop judging things based on feelings! That is a terrible way to make decisions. I believe in the Church, not because of how I FEEL, but because history bears witness to her truth.
