I don't think I can do this

I am not a doctor and not offering medical advice, but I have to mention that after my second was born I had something which I thought was recurrent UTIs which turned out to be nothing of the kind. For lack of a better medical term, it seems like having a 10-pound baby discombobulated my bladder–I had a lot of urgency and some leaks. I did a number of years on Detrol and Sanctura (to reduce the urgency–and that seemed to have some effect), stopped the medication while pregnant and breastfeeding my third, and then at that point, I noticed that my symptoms while unmedicated now were roughly the same as my symptoms while medicated back then, so I haven’t gone back on.

A urologist will sort you out. I think if I were you, I’d ask the OB’s nurse line if it’s safe to wait.

I started taking the medication last night… I guess I will have to wait to get answers. I don’t have urgency, Its (TMI) cloudy foul smelling urine unless i drink allot of water. No pain, burning, or urgency etc… So I don’t know whats going on with me. Another waiting game.

That’s pretty typical pregnant lady stuff. I’m a little surprised that they’re medicating you, but presumably they think that the risks of doing nothing are higher.

This is OB–they are very risk averse.

In the meantime, since you could probably use some comic relief, here is how one mother of nine responds to people who ask impertinent questions about her family size:

Love you, LittleRose, this was hysterical. Clicked on this author’s book “NFP for Sinners” and read some of the amazon reviews for it. Looks like a very good book, one the OP might really appreciate, too. 😉 (loved her comment about sticking the laminated fig newton into the oversized duffel bag that you’ve been trying to pass off as your purse. This is because my once hip leather purse has now morfed into some sort of knotted caveman knapsack. Lol what can I say my priorities are not handbags.)

RSV, RSVP, (what was your name again??) might want to consider a naturopathic doctor, too. They tend to have a whole-body approach, since the issue is urine color.

**Blessed Mother, please intercede for us.
Hold the sorrowful, strengthen the fearful,
mother and love the weary, abused, neglected
or forgotten among us,
give your aid to all needing help or healing,
assist those who are sick, in pain or suffering,
be with those needing peace,
console the lonely or brokenhearted,
comfort the lost or hopeless,
guard the unborn,
pray for those who are dying or who have died,
soften those with hardened hearts,
enlighten those who do not yet see truth,
help us be brave enough to let our hurt and anger go,
show us the way to do the right thing,
protect those who are in danger,
and guide us from every evil.
May all who keep your sacred commemoration
experience the might of your assistance.
Amen :gopray: **

Hi TSB4

Did they culture your urine and did they find bacteria? What med are you on? I have extensive experience with UTIs, kidney infections, urinary sepsis and all that fun stuff. 🙂

I am also sorry to hear about the insane stress and trauma you are going through. You are doing really well handling it all. ((HUGS)) to you!

Excellent! Maybe you and she can have a private conversation about this. Poor girl, I’m sure she doesn’t want to talk any more about this online as she can help it. :o
Thank you for offering advice!

How are you going, OP? I think you’d be about five months now, correct? I hope things have been improving for you 🙂

Whoa, sorry for such a late response. They usually find ecoli when its cultured. If i drink lots of water before an appointment my urine will be clean in office. its really frustrating.

Hello.
Im actually going to be 7 months in about a week and a half. Cant even believe it. Things are not improving, sad to say. Our finances are still in the pits. My anxiety and panic are still a battle and I still don’t feel like having this baby is a good idea… I just sit day by day, week by week, trying not to even think about it. 😦

Dear TSB4, you are in my prayers daily, and I am sure in the prayers of others. Please don’t give up hope, we are all praying for you. You are hanging in there everyday, and that is an accomplishment in itself.

If anyone is interested, please offer prayers for our sister, TSB4, in the Prayer forum.

If it helps, money problems are fleeting. Your baby is forever. I truly pray that once the baby arrives you will be able to take medication and your outlook will be much improved.

There are several meds considered safe during pregnancy, and also when nursing. You need to get whatever helps, and at this point meds seem like a REALLY good idea. Please, please, talk to your doctor and call the Infant Risk Center. They can tell you or your doctor what meds are safe in your situation. infantrisk.com/

My Ob will not prescribe or allow me to take anything. I think I can tough it out for the last 3 months. I also don’t get how speaking with anyone will help. Although I am in counseling, when i leave, I leave with the same stressors that I went in with. The same bills, the same troubles… I feel like I’m going just to say I go, at this point.

It is highly possible that we will be moving again. Probably will be a shelter as we have very little money coming in. We cannot afford the rent where we are, or anywhere for that matter.

Then go to someone else. That’s insane. Lots of women need to take antidepressants (which would help with the anxiety) while pregnant. I’m so sorry. Perhaps the county health clinic? A family doctor?

Do contact your parish, the St. Vincent de Paul organization may be able to help with housing and such.

A shelter? With four children and another on the way? I hope not 😦

I will keep you in my prayers
