How can child pornography be a multi-billion dollar industry? How can anyone look at children as sexual objects? I just don’t get it.

A child porn ring was just busted in my city…so sad.

They are disturbed. If you don’t understand, it’s a good thing.

Something is really bothering me today. About a year ago, I accidentally brought up a porn site and found a young Asian girl (about age 5 or 6) in a horrifying picture. I never reported it and to this day, that picture burns through my mind and I pray for her all the time.

Why didn’t I report what I saw? I just closed the website right away in horror and disbelief. I feel like I failed this little girl. 😦

Because it was so unexpected and shocking, it’s not completely your fault for not thinking clearly. I’m sorry that you feel guilt over it, but don’t beat yourself up, instead direct your thirst for justice in a positive way. There is much still to be done to help victims, perhaps you’re being called to get involved?

It sounds like you simply reacted to a horrible picture and did not really have time to reason. I think I would have reacted in a very similar manner. What you are doing by praying for her is wonderful.

You did the right thing…

Be sober, be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking some one to devour. 1Peter 5:8

We now have laws in Canada that we have to report child pornography when we see it. Now that I know this, I will report it if I ever see it again!

My husband used to work for a tech support company. People would send their computers in to be fixed and they would find horrible things on there. These people all got reported to the police and arrested 🙂

I agree, the fact that this disgusts you is a normal healthy reaction. I like you, would have shut the window immediately. I also would be afraid that if I did stop to report it, the police or whoever would then go digging into my life and try to make it seem like I intentionally viewed the image and they would then be charging me!!

The rational I have heard - and DO NOT agree with, but this is how they justify if to themselves is that it is a natural love and that it wasn’t long ago that interracial unions and homosexuality where viewed as “disgusting” and now both are widely accepted, so they (the child lovers) are simply waiting for society to “get with the program” and make their love normal too. WTHeck??

Everyone has some weakness, some temptation. Satan and his minions know exactly what our weaknesses are and exploit them as best they can. There are many horrible sins that man is tempted by in our time. Child pornography is one.

We are at war, not with flesh and blood, but with principalities and powers, the powers of light vs. the powers of darkness, good against evil. One day, forever, you and I will be in heaven or hell. Period. It is not a disgrace to get wounded in battle. That’s why we have medics (in this case, priests in confession!). It is a disgrace, however, to desert! We should never give up our battle! With the help of God’s grace, we persevere till the end!

OP: I don’t get it, either. When I consider it, it makes me want to take the pervs out to the alley for a good, thorough beating. Maybe include a bit of the baseball bat.

saddest of all is that the parents are usually involved somehow 😦

On that note, I still wonder and pray for that little girl that went missing in Portugal a few years back. I also wonder if her parents had anything to do with it.

What’s even more bewildering is when someone you know and would NEVER have suspected of such a thing is exposed as being into it. I had that happen with a senior citizen coworker, of all things and it really threw me. When you already know the perpetrator before it happens, the bat doesn’t seem like such a simple solution anymore.

You really just can’t tell who’s who anymore. It really felt like one of those SciFi shows where the evil alien takes over an otherwise good guy. Demonic is the only answer I can see.
