I don't want protestant influences or friends in my life, is this ok?

I just ran out of likes but here you go. ❤️

It was similar for me, too, very recently. What would have happened to me if the Catholics I met had refused to associate with me? Had refused to help me with my questions and be my friend? 🤔

OP, you associate with whoever you want to. Just, don’t act like a snob towards people who aren’t Catholic. It sends the wrong message.

No. This is NOT okay. Others have explained why much more politely than I would. But thank you for providing this thread that I can bookmark and use as evidence when I explain why I will never be sending my children to a Catholic school. This sort of toxic, elitists, judgmental, anti-gospel, and straight up lazy attitude permeates every one I’ve ever had anything to do it.

I think there may be a cloistered monastery in the future!
Even in a cloister, the Jehovahs Witnesses might still rap on your door.

There is JW kingdom hall facility just a few blocks from the cloistered Passionist community in Carrick, Pittsburgh

Devout? What were they devoted to? Not authentic Catholic teaching.

Ofc, but there is no salvation outside of the church apart from extreme circumstances, Baptism of desire, act of perfect contrition. but generally speaking.
Protestants, particularly those who have received Trinitarian baptism, are not considered to be “outside the Catholic church”. Please go read the section of the Catechism dealing with non-Catholics.

Maybe it’s different among some Catholics and in some other parts of the country or world, but here in New York City, I, who am Jewish, have friends who are Catholic, some who are Protestant, others Jewish, one or two who are Hindu or Muslim, a couple who are atheist, and so on. Sometimes we talk about religion, but not for the purpose of evangelization. Most of the time we talk about other things of common interest. It’s no problem at all.

We are called to do God’s work and evangelise. How are we to do that if we stick to ourselves?

We should mix and make friends with people of all sorts of religious belief and none. We shouldn’t just enclose ourselves in a comfortable, safe ‘Catholic bubble’, we should be Catholics in the world.

I guess its okay to avoid people. Its much easier to advance in holiness when you when you are alone with God.

the Catechism says that there is no salvation outside of the church
I don’t think you read that section thoroughly. You should revisit it.
By avoiding all Protestants just because they are Protestants, you will cut yourself off from a lot of very good Christians, from whom you can learn a lot.

I feel like most of this is an excuse to socialize with others in a somewhat vain way.

There is certainly room enough for everyone that wants to be there.

The city is laid out as a square, and its length is as great as the width; and he measured the city with the [l]rod, [m]fifteen hundred miles; its length and width and height are equal.

People are kind of saying the same thing over and over again.
