. . . when I tried this naturally occurring chemical I saw a women centered in my vision with radiant light and colors beaming of of her. She was communicating with me non verbally, she raised her right pointer finger at me all while the most beautiful colors and light spiraled out from her. I have to admit that the experience was very beautiful, and I felt a sense of love from this women. What she was trying to tell me I do not know . . .
:twocents:

If I may be so bold as to offer an interpretation of your vision.
I am assuming that it was not demonic, but it could end that way depending on what you do as a consequence. Your being here on these forums, to me, is a good sign.

So assuming it is a private revelation, it is not complete, but it does offer a glimpse into the world of the divine.
  • You would not know what she was saying because there is much more to learn.
  • The message can be understood as a statement that you must search for the Truth. This is just a taste.
  • The use of drugs is not how one truly comes to know God. Perhaps your beliefs in the power of the material led you to drugs, and God then acted through them to reveal something of the world of the spirit. Do not pursue this route; it has served its purpose. Continuing on that path will lead you astray and potentially to madness and depravity.
The woman in the vision points and colours, beauty and love flow from her.
She is other, not yourself - although female in form, it may be an image of the Deity, with which you feel comfortable. That you have been subsequently drawn to Mother Mary suggests that this is a way in, to Christ. This vision may be a portal through which you will ultimately find God.

That’s a very wise, balanced statement. There are points of light on the pyschedelic spiritual path, and it sounds like Former XCatholic may have found one of them, but there is also great darkness, and the further you go along that path, the more darkness you will encounter. All truths point to the Truth, but to me, the “good news” is that humanity no longer needs to grasp in the darkness for points of light. Because of Christ, and through the Church He founded, we have the ability to seek directly after the One in whom “there is no darkness at all.”

Absolution, you point to Christ as Savior, which is the key point, so there we agree and should focus our conversation. Yet, “The use of drugs is **not **how one truly comes to know God.” - thats truth. Scripture directs us to seek Him in truth and purpose, not through “anyway”. Recall 1 Cor. 10:23-24:
23 “All things are lawful,” but not all things are helpful. “All things are lawful,” but not all things build up. 24 Let no one seek his own good, but the good of his neighbor.

If the tenor of my response is not accurately recapitulating your statements, please reply and clarify. Drugs (assuming we’re intending those of the illegal recreational kind) and alcohol abuse muddy the waters of understanding and direction. They direct towards death, not life. Drugs are a scourge-filled redirection from a clear and honest understanding of, and seeking to have, Christ sitting on the throne of our life. Having used psychotropics a number of times, I’ve come to understand they feed the rebelliousness and selfishness (much like those at Babel) which leads people astray from worshipping the true and living God, and they lead downward towards a universalistic perspective. Many friends from those pyschedelic days set the pattern of drug use and are, much more than not, still struggling to mature in matters of earthly life and spiritual development. Any advocation for drug use is wholly not truth seeking, but is self-pleasure seeking. Let’s point to Christ through the narrow gate of heart-centered sincere worship of Jesus Christ, as He directs us, not directing others to"wherever and however cause we’ll all get to heaven eventually."
