I feel guilty

I feel so guilty. I have been fighting the addiction to masturbating for awhile. And I fell and I feel real bad. I cant go to confession until Saturday and I have asked God to forgive me. But I feel so guilty. I feel like I should stay in my house until Saturday. I feel bad going out to do anything or even getting dressed. I was going to go put out job apps today but I feel so bad that I fell.

I dont have a car right now and have to wait until my Dad can take me. I am having to look for a job thats close enough to walk to. And I am broke so I cant afford a taxi

I know how it feels to fall and how hard it is to keep getting things done when all you want to do is go to confession.

God understands, dude. Make a good act of contrition and then spend the time between now and when you get to see Father working hard on being a good Catholic and a responsible man. That means getting those jobs aps out so you have better access to the sacraments!

Well, I don’t think it’s necessary to stay in the house all week. God knows of your sincere sorrow and intent to go to sacramental confession as soon as you can.

I have that same addiction, and the struggle has been neverending for more than half of my life now. Make an act of contrition and express your firm intention to go to confession as soon as you have an opportunity. TRUST in God’s mercy. It is a serious sin, and it feels so shameful and disgusting, but His mercy is greater than any of our sins. It is the work of Satan to make you feel so guilty that you think you can’t possibly show your face to God with masturbation on your conscience. Sometimes I think the guilt separates me from God more than the sin ever could.
