You bet it has! You mentioned St. Therese as being one of your favorite saints. Mine too by the way. She endured an enormous temptation to the Faith. And at the very same time was battling tuberculosis which eventually ended her life at 24.Is this normal? Has this ever happened to anyone?
In the book St. Therese of Lisieux, By Those Who Knew Her by Christopher O’Mahony, Sister Teresa of Saint Augustine said in her testimony in the process of canonization for Therese, that she once confided to her about the darkness she was in; “If you only knew what darkness I am plunged into!” she said. “I don’t believe in eternal life; I think that after this life there’s nothing. Everything has disappeared on me, and I am left with love alone.”
Anyone who knows this Saint would have to agree, that that’s one incredible thing for her to say! So you hang in there mvilladefreitas, because even the greatest of saints have experienced this. Ask St. Therese to pray for you. She’s an expert in this area.
