When I was in high school I used to go behind the bushes to pray the Rosary. I was very shy and had very few friends in high school. It wasn’t until I went to college that I met Catholic friends who helped me break out of my shell.
Now I keep in touch with one of my friends from high school.
@1ke and @CoffeeCatholic have some really good advice. Don’t pin your hopes on this girl because she may or may not meet your expectations.
As St. Augustine said: “Thou hast made us for Thyself, O Lord, and our hearts are restless until they rest in Thee.”
God alone can make us happy. The Angels, Saints are eternally happy because they see Him face to Face. The just on earth participate in the Divine Life of God, sanctifying grace and are happy here on earth. This is going to seem crazy but trust me on this: One can have the whole world crash around him (her), but if that person is in the state of sanctifying grace he (she) will still be happy. Conversely, one can have family, friends, a nice bank account, fancy car etc but if that person is in the state of mortal sin he (she) will still be miserable. I know because I’ve gone through this myself. It may not make sense now but when you get older maybe you’ll remember that nutsy lady (me) and my poor post.
