I think I have to read it again because I was treating it all like a checklist. Any thoughts on how I should approached it? Or should I just read it as it is?

You do realize that there are many Catechisms written for different people in different places and different times, don’t you? The USCCA and YouCat are as “real” as the Baltimore Catechism or the Compendium of the Catechism.If you are talking about the “real” Catechism (not the Catechism for Adults, Catechism for Teens, etc.)
