Reepicheep:
I checked the same link and was a bit startled. I’m a Catholic, and a Dungeons and Dragons player. It’s not a sin. I think what happened here is that the composer of the list, personally, sees Dungeons and Dragons as a doubtful activity.
Note that he says at the head of the page, that he makes no distinction between sins and faults.
In any case, I have never heard of any pronouncement by the Church, to the effect that roleplaying games were wrong.
Indeed you have it correct.

It is not necessarily a sin.

But defintely an imperfection.

All things that lead us to not be thinking about Christ or to cease praying are distractions/imperfections.

You know, of course, that excessively playing videogames IS a sin. Just as spending too much time in front of the TV is a sin.

In Christ.

Andre.

I’m not saying that you shouldn’t ask, or even that it’s not the right question; I’m simply saying that you don’t have to be a jerk about the way you ask.

Blessings,
RyanL
Come on, all he said was “are you scrupulous?”.

Nothing wrong with that.

Lets not argue amongst ourselves!

Perhaps from what was indicated, Paris may be a tiny bit scrupulous.

However, I think she is just trying to remove sin from her life. Nothing wrong with that.

In Christ.

Andre.

It’s better to be a little scrupulous than not to and not go to Confession when you have sins.

Besides, at least I was absolved…since it was going to be my 1st Communion, might aswell have a clear soul!😃

Paris Blues:
I don’t know about you guys but I might have to go every single week for the rest of my life!!

But that’s okay…at least I know I will be forgiven (that is as long as I don’t keep committing the same ones over and over and over and over and over and over…
You can be forgiven, even if you commit the same ones over and over and over.

Paris Blues:
Dang it…

I committed two sins (I’m not sure if they’re venial or mortal) yesterday and what do ya know…I just finished my first Confession. Now since today is Satruday, will have to go today again! 😦

See, the devil’s real ticked off and he’ll do anything!!!

What’s going on??
It really helped me to read the lives of the Saints and see how they handled their fallen nature. It will give you inspiration and also help you to see what is an actual sin. Also, read the RC Catechism-and of course pray.

When the devil knocks on your door, ask Jesus to answer it. 👍

Don’t be surprised if the devil is after you now that you’re a Catholic - like Jesus said, “If they hated me, they will hate you too.”

Go to confession as often as you think is good or as often as you think you need to, but don’t feel guilty all the time. Remember that the Holy Spirit convicts us of our sins, rather than condemning us for them. Too much guilt actually makes it harder for us to turn to God, it is another tool of the devil.

Take heart and avoid sin always, but don’t be surprised if you sin, remember that you’re not perfect. Be poor in spirit and depend on God to help you as you strive to be a better person.

Go read Ephesians 6:10-20. Put on the whole armour of God. Take up the sword given to you by the Spirit and get ready for a fight. If God is for us, who can be against us?

Nicole,

The sacrament of confession is the place where we confess our sins. Although it confers grace to us, and frequent confession strengthens us against future sins and temptations, it is NOT a guarantee that you aren’t going to sin anymore. You will, which is why it’s not a one-time operation.

No really? 😉 😛

Yes, I’m totally aware that I’m going to sin, sin again, sin some more, sin more, sin again, sin, sin some more, sin again, sinning, keep sinning, sin again, then go to Confession. BUT will there even be ONE DAY where we wont sin at all?

Excuse me for stating the bloody obvious, but the high emotion of your original post made me think it worthwhile to do so.

No problem. I understand your point. It’s good we even have Confession
